Enjoy Reading Me ^v^…
The air hung heavy with the scent of pine and damp earth. Asuna her face lit by the setting sun pointed towards a dense thicket of trees. “Here we are. Told you it wouldn't take that long, come on, I know exactly where to go now.”
Kouichirou, his expression a mix of amusement and exasperation rolled his eyes. “You said that two hours ago” he adjusted the strap of his backpack, the weight of his skepticism settling on his shoulders.
Asuna undeterred tugged at his arm, her smile as bright as the fading sunlight. “Nearly there promise.”
They pushed deeper into the woods, the air growing cooler and the shadows lengthening. The forest floor was a tapestry of fallen leaves and moss, crunching under their feet. Kouichirou, ever the pragmatist, glanced at his watch. “Ok one more hour. If not, we're turning back.”
Asuna, her gaze fixed on the path ahead nodded. “Ok one more hour you know, you’re the first person I ever showed this place to. I certainly don’t want you to think I’m crazy.”
The air hung heavy with the scent of pine needles and damp earth as Asuna and her older brother Kouichirou trudged through the dense forest. Sunlight filtered through the canopy casting dappled shadows on the path ahead.
“You don’t need to be ashamed of that,” Kouichirou said, his voice soft as he tried to soothe her. “Lots of people have imaginary friends as children.”
Asuna stopped her brow furrowed. “They’re not imaginary Kouichirou” she turned to him, her eyes filled with a mixture of frustration and hurt. “Winnie the Pooh, Piglet, Tigger…they’re real.”
Kouichirou sighed, placing a hand on her shoulder. “that strong imagination of yours is what’s made you so successful. You don’t need to shy away from it.”
Asuna Shook her head, her voice trembling slightly “Why are we even here? hm? Why are we even here if you don’t believe me?”
Kouichirou sighed again, the weight of her words settling heavily upon him. “Asuna…I don’t think we’re going to find them. But I’m here to you.”
Asuna and Kouichirou walked along the quiet tree-lined, the evening air crisp and cool. The forest twinkled in the distance, a stark contrast to the darkness that had settled over the Hundred Acre Wood.
“Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore…all of them we were friends for many years And…And they’re out there,” Asuna said, her voice barely a whisper.
Kouichirou glanced at her his expression a mixture of concern and disbelief. “I know you’ve told me the stories many times how you would sneak into the kitchen to get them food and how you would play with them for hours and talk to them.”
Asuna nodded, her gaze fixed on the grass ahead. “Yes.”
“This little yellow bear…This Pink Pig…that no one, Asuna, not even you has ever seen since,” Kouichirou said, his voice dropping to a low murmur.
Asuna Sighed, a wave of unease washing over her. “Maybe you're right.”
They walked in silence for a moment, the weight of Asuna’s words hanging heavy in the air. The memory of Hundred Acre Wood, once a source of comfort and joy.
“I know it’s quite hard to deal with this,” Kouichirou said, his voice soft but firm.
“But that’s why I came to you. You know, in a way they still exist” Asuna Looked at the familiar tree house, its wooden walls weathered and worn. A wave of nostalgia washed over her. She could almost hear Pooh’s gentle humming and piglet’s nervous chatter. The memory of their laughter and adventures felt as vivid as yesterday.
They heard a rustling sound from within the tree house. Asuna’s heart skipped a beat.
“Pooh!” she whispered a smile spreading across her face.
Kouichirou watched her, his expression a mixture of concern and amusement. He knew she was clinging to hope, but he also knew the reality of the situation.
“Come on, Kouichirou, it’s them, it’s them!” Asuna exclaimed, her eyes sparkling with excitement. She grabbed his hand and pulled him towards the entrance of the tree house.
“Asuna, it’s not safe to go in there!” Kouichirou protested, but Asuna was already running.
She stopped at the entrance, her breath catching in her throat. The tree house was empty. Only shadows danced in the dim light.
“This is it Kouichirou,” she said, her voice barely a whisper. “We found them.”
Kouichirou looked at her, his eyes filled with a mixture of sadness and understanding.
Asuna stood at the edge of the overgrown path, her hand resting on the weathered wooden gate. The familiar scent of pine needles and damp earth hung heavy in the air, but something was off. The once vibrant colors of her childhood haven were muted, replaced by a dull oppressive gray. The trees, once friendly giants now loomed over the path, their branches reaching out like skeletal fingers.
“Asuna we can’t go in there” Kouichirou said, his voice tight with apprehension. He glanced at the dilapidated house at the end of the path, its windows dark and empty. The once-bright paint was peeling revealing a rotted decaying wood beneath.
“This is the place Kouichirou but it’s changed,” Asuna replied, her gaze sweeping over the unsettling scene. “The trees are taller, the house looks older…it’s almost like…time moves differently here.”
Kouichirou shook his head, his skepticism evident. “It can’t be Your imaginary doesn’t even exist.” He knew Asuna had a vivid imagination, often creating fantastical worlds in her mind. But this was real, tangible. Or was it?
Asuna Stepped closer, her heart pounding against her ribs. “It’s barely how I it.”
Kouichirou’s eyes narrowed, his voice laced with concern. “This has to be some sort of mistake.”
Asuna paused, her eyes falling upon a discarded honey pot lying on the ground. It was chipped and cracked, its once-golden color faded to a dull brown, she picked it up, her fingers tracing familiar shape.
“oh…Pooh what happened to you after all these years?” she whispered, her voice choked with a mix of sadness and fear. This wasn’t the playful honey-loving bear she ed. This was something else, something dark and twisted. This wasn’t the Pooh she knew.
The air grew thick with unspoken dread, and the silence was broken only by the rustling leaves and the distant sound of a crow’s caw. Asuna knew deep in her heart that something terrible had happened here. something that had forever changed the innocence of her childhood memories.
“Asuna! We need to leave now. We really shouldn’t be here.” Kouichirou’s voice was tight with apprehension. He tugged at Asuna's arm trying to pull her away from the dilapidated gate.
Asuna shook her head, her gaze fixed on the unsettling scene before them. “Kouichirou i really need to find out what’s happened here ok?” She stepped closer, her heart pounding against her ribs. The air hung heavy with an unspoken dread.
“Come on please?” Kouichirou’s voice was laced with desperation. He looked at the house, its windows dark and empty, its once-bright paint peeling away, he couldn't shake the feeling that something was Terribly wrong.
“Look you’re not in any danger ok? I know them Alright? It’s gonna be ok, alright?” Asuna tried to sound reassuring, but her voice was shaky. She placed her hands on Kouichirou’s shoulders trying to steady herself. She knew deep down that something terrible had happened here, but she refused to believe it.
“I really don’t like this.” Kouichirou’s voice was a low murmur. He pulled away from Asuna’s touch, his eyes darting around the overgrown path searching for any sign of danger.
“Kouichirou it’s going to be ok Alright I promise. When you see them, it’ll be fine, come on.” Asuna forced a smile, her heart pounding in her chest. She wasn't sure if she was convincing herself or her brother. but she had to believe that the characters she ed were still there, somewhere beneath the darkness.
“This is Pooh’s tree house, Kouichirou. We used to play here all the time. It’s much bigger than I ,” Asuna said, her voice a mix of nostalgia and unease. The wooden structure loomed over them, its once-familiar shape now casting long, ominous shadows.
They stepped inside the air thick with the scent of dust and decay. The treehouse seemed to have shrunk, its walls closing in on them.
“Pooh? Piglet?” Asuna called out, her voice a little shaky. She hoped to hear a familiar, friendly reply, but only silence answered.
Kouichirou scanned the room, his eyes drawn to a bed pushed against the far wall. A crudely drawn picture lay on the mattress, a twisted, grotesque version of Asuna. Scrawled beneath it in message jagged letters were the words: “she Abandoned Us.”
“Asuna? Is that you?” Kouichirou asked, his voice barely a whisper. He picked up the drawing, the paper cold and brittle in his hand. The image sent a shiver down his spine.
Asuna Approached, her face pale. “Yes…but why is it like that? Why would they do this?” Her voice trembled with a mixture of confusion and fear.
Kouichirou looked at her, his eyes filled with worry. “I don’t know but this is not safe. We're going home.”
He turned to leave but a low growl echoed from outside followed by the scraping claws on wood. The sound sent a wave of panic through them.
“We have to hide Asuna, hide!” Kouichirou shouted his voice tight with fear.
Asuna’s eyes widened in terror as she realized the danger they were in. The once-familiar haven of Pooh’s tree house had transformed into a terrifying trap.
