~APPEARANCES~

Hayashi Takeo is a 16 year old male faunus that is 5 feet tall, weighs 98 pounds and has a slightly tanned skin tone. He usually has a stern, mean-looking face despite being a generally nice person and wears sandles and a green keikogi with a black trim and a semi-messy hairstyle, wearing his weapon on his left hip. Hayashi usually keeps a serious look on his face unless he sees you as a really good friend, and even then it's probably not going to be that much of an expression. Being as obsessed with green as he is, his wardrobe consists of the same color keikogi for daytime and sleep, with about ten of them in total. He also has a chameleon tail that is concealed withinn his clothing, he has done so since childhood as a force of habit.

~PERSONALITY~

"Try your best to fight fire with water. It is best to put a fire out then make it grow bigger."

OUT OF COMBAT PERSONALITY

    Hayashi is calm and loves to help others if need be and is lenient towards others but holds himself to much more strict standards. He hates fighting pointlessly, even if it's play fighting, but will protect those he cares about to the end. Although he's nice and often times gentle, people are deterred by him because of his serious, and at times mean looking face. It is easy for him to accept people as friends outside of combat and hard to accept others as enemies. He is very straight forward with what he says at times as a force of habit and could be considered mean because of it when in reality it's better to hurt others with the truth than decieve them with a lie. Hayashi won't back down from something that he's set his mind to, often carrying things out until the end.

    Hayashi wants to get along with everyone he can to a flawed extent. He will let people beat him to a pulp so long as they don't harm anyone else. He hates hurting others, as evident by him not liking to fight for fun and wants to help everyone that he can, even if it's at his own peril. He loves nature and hates to see things (other than grim) die, often seen digging graves for birds and squirrels found dead along the road.

    Despite Hayashi's kind nature, he absolutely hates getting hugs. The worst thing you can do when giving him affection is hug him. He enjoys his personal space and time alone and if you take both of those away he may lose it. You may also hit or flip you if you startle him, not out of anger though but because he was expecting an attack. He is always alert, even outside of combat.

Hayashi is very serious in battle and will go all out before he loses. Despite this he isn't usually one to just charge in and attack. He at least analyses them somewhat on bad days and on good days is rather careful. In hand to hand combat he has a dirty way of fighting mixed in with what he already knows but is more refoned with weapons. He tries to use his surroundings to his advantage (I.e. When he hides in trees or bushes). He likes things that give him a challenge but won't fight just anybody.

~DOMINANT TRAITS~

A few dominant traits of his are that he doesn't talk much, he doesn't know that much about grimm or fighting them other than that they wreak havoc on others and need to be stopped. He likes to be alone in dark places, and he speaks softly. He doesn't really know that much about technology outside of his Kusaragi and will often be confused if you tell him how to do simple things on a computer.

~LIKES AND DISLIKES~

LIKES: Hayashi isn't that picky of an eater outside of sweet foods. His favorite treat (although he doesn't eat it around others for obvious reasons) are fried crickets

LIKES: Hayashi likes to be alone in either small, dark spaces or places with plants

USEFUL TALENTS: He is a great martial artist and says he is good at writing poetry (but no one has read one of his poems).

BAD HABITS: He often goes by himself to train when he should be sleeping.

~SCARS / TATTOOS / MARKS~

Hayashi has a scar on his right eye from when him and his brother foolishly sparred with actual swords when he was 15.

~CHILDHOOD~

"I don't care how many of you there are, I'll take on all of you at once!"

    Hayashi was born to two chameleon Faunus parents in a little village by a forest in Menagerie. He loved going into the forest and was often adventurous, running ahead of his biological parents at times. Catastrophe struck when they were caught by a beowulf, the beowulf lunged towards and they continues to run until his parents lost breath. He saw his father eaten and his mother dragged away.

   Angry, but desperately wanting to save his mom, he ran after her and was later eye to eye with an ursa. The ursa pounced on him with great ferocity and was about to claw his throat, then when Hayashi felt terrified out of his wits and the claw came hammering down, he stuck his palm out in desperation, as if to plead for him to stop and a small green arrow was shot into the irsa's eye. The ursa doubled back in pain as Hayashi ran to the village and was later adopted by Kage and his Wife Hikari.

~TEENAGER~

"Sometimes the best thing to do is retreat and plan out the next attack."

Up to the age that he is now, Hayashi always wanted to be a hunter to save people from the forces of grimm. He trained under his adopted father in various martial arts such as Jittejutsu (which he doesn't know that much of), use of the odachi and katana (which he is a master at) and a hybrid empty hand fighting style (which he could use a little bit of work in). His older step-brother always bested him at everything and they had a healthy rivalry, the one thing that he refused to do was fight him for fun. He grew to love and respect his step-parents more and more as time went on and had a hard time leaving them for Vacuo.

   His teenage years were when he learned to be calm and think rationally about things instead of getting himself into trouble. His kind attitude was wasted on the villagers though as they had their own theories as to what the family's goals were (which mostly are false). Some people saw them as kind people, just trying to get by who saved a child from death and took him in, and others (because of a boy that they have trained, although dead now) saw them as of the Red Fang.

~WEAPONS~

"A wise swordsman once said to never use more weapons then is needed, it would be a shame to go out with a weapon still sheathed."

Kusanagi is a katana with a normal blade length of 2.1 feet that can transform to to be 3.1 feet long through sliders that are activated by a button and that lock in place at it's minimum or maximum blade length. Hayashi also has a Jutte, a blunt weapon used for trapping blades and usage in places where blades aren't allowed. It 19 inches in length with a small rectangular hook on the side. Hayashi chose these weapons as they are the ones that he's trained with for 6 years as part of his family's hybrid martial arts system that incorporated the use of the odachi, katana, and jutte (even though he was supposed to learn the basics of the jutte, he didn't learn that much of said basics and only uses it as a reminder) as well as teaching hand to hand combat (although he was sent off to vacuo before he could finish his hand to hand combat training, he is still a force to be recon with).

Hayashi has stated before that he liked the overall look and handling of the katana and having it's blade (2.1 feet) transform into the length of an odachi blade (3.1 feet) was just a bonus. He also stated that his judgement may have been biased as he has trained with the katana and odachi for 6 years. The Jutte can be used as a weapon, but it is mostly just a reminder of the family that adopted him.

~SEMBLANCE~

Arrow Shot:     Hayashi can create tiny "Arrows" of aura that shoot through his left palm. These arrows take up 4 percent of his aura, and are shot one at a time. A limit though is that the faster he wants them to be, the further away he has to be. So if he wants to shoot one at someone or something he can't be less then 25 yards (60 feet) away from them or else it won't do that much damage. The limit as to how far it can be shot is 45 yards (135 cubic feet) although he isn't yet that good of a shot so he stays at 20 to 30 yards away when using them. The fastest the Arrows can go are 440 FPS with the slowest they can go being 250 FPS. Hayashi usually uses Arrow Shot when he can't be seen by a human or faunus opponent, or when he is far enough away from a creature of Grimm.

~BATTLE STYLE~

"Only fight as a last resort, or to protect someone or something, never out of anger"

~WITHOUT WEAPONS~

Hayashi isn't as good at fighting hand to hand than he is with weapons and there for doesn't feel as safe without weapons. He will claw, bite, jab eyes, throw sand, bash you into a tree, basically anything to take you down. First hearing this, it seems sparatic, but he usually thinks things through; he just fights more brutally than with his weapons.

~WITHOUT SEMBLANCE~

Hayashi can fight well without a semblance due to his training in martial arts, he usually waits for the oponent to attack first before he makes a move and then strikes unless he is facing a grim or without a weapon.

~WITH WEAPONS~

Hayashi isn't sparatic when fighting with weapons. This is because he feels safer with a weapon on him then he does without a weapon. He still resorts to dirty tactics if he has to, but tries to refrain from it as much as he can. He is more confident in battle

~WEAKNESSES~

Although very fast and stealthy, Hayashi is strong enough to use his Kusanagi on the battlefield in it's lengthened state over a long period of time fluid motions, stopping it in place and even changing direction with ease but that's it. He isn't even close to having Herculean streangth. His endurance isn't the best either. He isn't a sissy but he can't dish out as much attacks as someone with a larger sum of endurance can. Hayashi is very intelligent, thinking logically instead of impulsively, but knows little about Grimm and their weaknesses as previously stated.

~RELATIONSHIP / HISTORY~

Hikari Takeo (Step-mother)

Hikari and Hayashi both liked nature, it was her that taught him to be kind to everyone he can? Hayashi ran to her husbands dojo, and in a frantic slur of words told them what happened the best that his ten year old mouth could utter. They soon took him in as their step-son.

Kage Takeo (Step-father)

Kage trained Hayashi in martial arts personally, at times neglecting his blood-related son's need for guidence to take care of his step-son's training. Kage taught Hayashi to always protect those he cares about to a greater degree then his mother did and gained his respect because of it. Despite this Hayashi he is still mad at Kage to this day because he put him on a pedistal instead of treating him and his step-brother as equals.

Gurē Takeo (Step-brother)

In Hayashi's eyes Gurē and him were friendly rivals, but to Gurē it was a fight to deaperately prove himself to his father, knowing that the only way he coulf get his father's attention is through fighting Hayashi. Every time Hayashi refused Gurē took it as an insult of his abilities but Hayashi simply didn't like fighting just to prove that he was stronger. Gurē ran from home and was never seen again past that and Hayashi soon after entering Vacuo ed everything that his brother has done until then, realizing that he was just trying to get Kage to notice him.

Arthur (leader of team BOTT)

He is trying to reserve judgement of him... They met at initiation when Arthur was attacked by a grimm without any weapons or gear. He couldn't leave him to die with a clear concious so he decided to help.

Noctis

Hayashi sees Noctis as the tupe of guy that he wants to be. They met at initiation when he used his shield and semblance to help Hayashi and arthur get out of the first area and back to the professors.

~ORIGIN OF NAME~

FIRST NAME: When Hayashi was adopted as a young boy and didn't know what his name was or anything about the family that he lost, one thing was certain, that he was found in the forest. Hence the name Hayashi (which means forest) was given to him.

LAST NAME: Tokeo was the name of the family that adopted him at age 10. One of it's meanings is warrior which I believe may be fitting for a family of martial artists
