Authors Note: Heyo everyone Bare here again with my second trailer for my oc Doyle titled Stygian! As before not sure about this one, even more so given this character in particular doesn’t have what you call.. An active fighting style lol. I also played a lot more with sound and dialogue in this one so we’ll see how this goes, and like before, let me know what ya think in the comments below ^^

Plop… Plop... Plop...

These were the sounds falling in three second intervals that echoed and reverberated through the dark sewer in a monotone and consistent pattern like that of a metronome. The only change in pattern being caused by the sole occupant of the normally abandoned tunnel. The said occupant was a relatively short person in a yellow raincoat with the hood pulled up. Underneath the dull and concealing coat was impossible to tell with it being pulled up with the hem of it going to the figures mid thighs. Below that however it was seen that they wore dark grey tros with black boots that went.

Kersploosh.. Kersploosh.. Kersploosh..

Against the wet floor. Besides this the only major feature of them was a large gun metal grey circular shield with gold edges that was slung over the figures back, the weight of which seeming to force them into a slightly hunched over position. Walking ever forward the figure had their brown gloved hands in their pocket looking positively malaise as they trudged through the sewer.

Feeling a slight change in temperature the figure looked up revealing that even their face was covered by a grey face mask and yellow lensed goggles. Spotting some steps leading to a catwalk a few feet away from them they quickly climbed up being extra careful to not step as loudly as they had been. Once at the top of the catwalk the figure would look down into the dark tunnels, the lenses of their goggles letting their dark pewter eyes gaze into the inky black below. Which was soon lit in dull orange as two men came onto the scene below.

One of them appeared rather nervous as they looked around with an old model electric dust rifle the Atlas military stopped using years ago when they converted to hardlight. They were dressed rather plainly. Wearing a maroon button up with a matching maroon and blue bow tie of all things, with a dark blue winter coat over it and black pants with brown boots. Though for whatever reason he had random pieces of armor taped over his body, particularly his arms legs and chest, though it looked like pieces from Atlesian sentries ripped off and crudely painted with maroon paint. Also interesting to note was that they appeared to be a cyborg if the metallic plate over his eye was anything to go off of. ”I’m telling you I heard something! What if its a grimm! Oh gods or worse yet a big snake..” He said rather nervously.

The other one though was.. Odd. He was a rather.. portly fellow dressed rather casually in an orange sports hoodie that.. Didn’t quite cover his gut with a blue denim jacket being over the hoodie. He also had rather greasy looking brownish green hair that was slicked back with blue jeans and black sneakers. Like his friend he too had random Atlesian bot parts taped to his body only his were painted orange rather than maroon. Unlike his friend though he wielded a large and cumbersome looking weapon that had a rather large blade on one end with a larger than average barrel, like a combination of a knife and rifle, but it looked like an old prototype of now traditional transforming weapons. ”And I’m telling you it’s just this water everywhere now can we go back to camp now I’m missing out on dinner because of this! Also how is a snake worse than a grimm!” The orange one said rather crassly stated to his partner who rolled his digital eye.

”You wouldn’t be saying that if it were a bat…” the maroon one said flatly in retort causing the orange one to jerk up panicked.

”BAT?! WHERE?!” He cried out shooting a round of his weapon into the air making an explosion against the ceiling not far from the hooded observer.

”...Told ya so.” the maroon one said regretting his decision to snap back at his comrade as now several sets of footsteps came down the other end of the tunnel to the two.

Hearing the steps the yellow hooded figure would stealthily maneuver around the catwalk to get a better vantage point at the dozen or so individuals present before the original two. Looking down at the group the hooded figure saw that they all more or less matched the first two, as none of them were dressed in any set of uniforms or even combat oriented outfits. They all wore multicolored outfits that spoke of various backgrounds and personalities with a myriad of weapons among them from varying levels of time. The only consistent trait among them being the random pieces of Atlas robot armor being strapped to their bodies and painted in various colors from plain blue, yellow, cobalt, light red, and teal. Or was that aqua? Either way they all looked like a ragtag assembly of civilians than soldiers. With one exception. A rather tall older man who appeared to be in his mid sixties who wore a modern Atlas elite armored uniform that was dyed and painted red. His weapon of choice appeared to be a top of the line long range dust combat shotgun. All in all he appeared to be the one in charge given the way he was tearing into the orange and maroon ones.

”You idiots! Are you trying to blow our position! Why I oughta start a good ol shotgun court martial right here and now with me as the judge and old faithful here as the executioner!” The man screamed in a heavy southern accent at the two, though the hooded figure noticed he was only pointing his gun at the fat orange one who took offence.

Oh whatever! We’re under a box canyon in the boonies of Atlas during a BLIZZARD! I doubt one fucking explosion is gonna attract anyone!” He snapped back angrily at his ‘commander’

However as the fat one was ranting the hooded figure heard a creaking sound behind them. Looking back their eyes behind the goggles widened as the explosion from earlier damaged and frayed the cables holding the catwalk up. Before they could do anything the catwalk’s wires snapped and fell along with the yellow clad figure. Quicking taking their shield off their back they placed it under them and curled up as they along with the catwalk crashed against the ground with a loud and metallic

Kerslam!!!

Getting up with debris falling around them the figure looked up revealing their goggles and face mask had fallen around their neck in the crash. This revealed them to have a rather odd set of facial features. Standing up fully he was revealed to be a boy due to his facial features. One with somewhat sullen Grey eyes with red rimming them, along with they had wiry straw yellow hair. What was frightening, however, was the fact that his skin was a dark grey and appeared to be pulled tight over their faces making them look almost like a skull with eyes. It didn't help that along their cheeks and forehead was bright red cracks that looked frightening to look at. Especially for the untrained group before him.

”...GRIMM ATTACK!!!” The red one shouted after a moment of shocked silence from all parties. At the rally of his command they all raised their weapons, with some fumbling sillily with their weapons in the process, before firing a myriad barrage of bullets and dust at the yellow hooded figure. Running between the ranged attacks with their shield at their aide blocking anything that gets too close he would jump up avoiding an explosive round from the orange ones weapon before landing into a slide behind a large piece of metal from the catwalk to use as cover.

Turning his shield against an opening in the debris the young man pressed a button flipping on a series of cameras along the outside of the shield that displayed what was happening safely on the inside of the shield to the hooded young man. Seeing that the orange one was about to fire from his grenade launcher again. Knowing that would take out his cover the young man pressed a trigger on the inside of his shield causing a barrel to telescope out from the inside of the shield. Squeezing the trigger again the young man fire a small, but strong and precise burst of buzzing yellow dust shots at the orange one blasting them with each shot in the chest knocking him flat on his back as electricity arched off his body as he fell unconscious and paralyzed.

Turning the shield the young man saw another opponent, this time a rather.. Flamboyantly dressed man in pink raising three dust grenades up. Thinking quickly he slid a slider above the trigger to the right causing the barrel to become more narrow as he did so. He would then squeeze the trigger again three times, releasing three long bolts of lightning that flew across the battlefield striking and preemptively detoning the grenades right as the pink one threw them creating a multi dust explosion that sent him and two others, a yellow and purple one flying backwards from the explosion. However before he could turn a pronged hard light sword suddenly cut the debris the young man was hiding behind in half.

Turning to retaliate the hooded youngster was forced to stop to defend a shotgun blast from the red one making him skid back from the impact as more bullets began pelting his shield forcing him on the defensive. However his eyes soon widened as the aqua one with the sword went for another strike only to suddenly duck while the maroon one fired a rocket at him. Barely having time to ready his shield up in preparation the rocket exploded against his defense rocking and sending him flying back from the sheer force of the blast. Crashing into another piece of debris from the catwalk the young man groaned as he pushed himself to his feet his hood being blown off by the rocket revealing his full face to the rapidly approaching enemies who all stopped in disgust or fright. Clenching his fist angrily the straw haired boy stood up fully, shield in his grasp as he growled, sending a barely visible yellow pulse from his body.

”Oh God!!”, “My eyes!”, WORSE THAN A MILLION SNAKES IN ONE!!!”, “hrggrk..”, These were the various reactions of the remaining rogues as the pulse hit them, some tightly closing their eyes, one or two hunching over as if they were about to throw up while the maroon one plain ed out after his declaration. The only one who was least affected was the red one, but even he was shaking and looked visually disturbed as he was struggling to raise his shotgun up.

Knowing he didn't have much time till the effect wore off the frightening looking young man ran forward, throwing his shield as he did so with all his might at a metal pillar, even spinning to add momentum as he did so. As the shield left his hand it soared forward bouncing off the metal and back across the tunnel nailing the red one in the side of the head as he finally got his nerve back only to be sendt flat on his face in the water. The heavy metal weapon then continued its ricocheting rampage across the debris filled tunnel, as if by magic the shield bludgeoned any of the wanna be soldiers whenever they started to raise their weapons at the young man running by, through the water buying him more time. Finally as it bashed against the teal ones head and flew at an angle hitting a piece of former catwalk before bouncing back to the young man who had thrown it.

Jumping up as he caught it the young man quickly slid the slider al the way to the right while twisting another knob just under the trigger making it green. As he fell to the water below the young man squeezed the trigger, this time releasing a point blank blast of wind dust launching himself up near the top of the tunnel, just under a grate that showed the moonlit surface above the combatants. Twisting in mid air the young man would aim his weapon below him twisting the knob again till it was yellow once more. His opponents below had put themselves together one more and had begun to raise their weapons into the air to hit the airborne youth. However, under the backdrop of the moon, he would squeeze the trigger one last time sending a large ball of electric dust at the water they were all standing in.

”OH SHIT!!” Was the collective shout of all the still conscious rogues as the ball of electric dust impacted with the water creating both an explosion of yellow and a far reaching shock wave electrocuting everyone standing or not. Landing deftly on a cat walk the young man stood up straight as his still standing opponents fell backwards splashing in the still sparking water. Taking a scroll out the straw haired young man pressed a causing it to ring as he raised it to his ear.

”Colonel? The suspects have been neutralized requesting apprehension unit.” He would say speaking for the first time revealing his dry, raspy voice, one that showed he didn’t talk much. “Yes sir.” he would say getting an answer before some additional noise came through visibly making the uncomfortable and awkward. “No sir. I haven’t changed my mind. I’ll still be attending Shade.” He would say before abruptly hanging up and dropping down into a seated position on the catwalk with a sigh. Looking up he noticed through the grate an Atlas bullhead fly over head shining its light through the grate. Sighing he got up and shifted into the darkness waiting for the military police to come and take him back to Atlas for the last time...
