Living under an authoritarian regime is not fun. Extensive censorship meant no Facebook, no Youtube, no porn, and much more. Off the shores, off the docks, stands the grand city of Atlas. Home to not only the many residents that live here but also companies big and small. One of the most notable is the Schnee Dust Company and their residence, their mansion, which can be located on the outskirts of the city away from all the noise. What seems to be the peaceful techy Kingdom, has become one rather large facade of a precinct. Many of the protesters have suddenly disappeared without a trace after the arrests from the Atlesian police. With the poor getting poorer, and the rich getting richer, there has been some hushed talk about a coup d'etat. But only time will tell, and just ask yourself… Is this, what democracy looks like?

History

Roy was always the alpha male of the group, it doesn't help that he's from a high-end traveling family, is obnoxiously smart, and best of all, can hack and program as if it was a simple stroll through a park. Being a Faunus that could simply off as a human, Roy and his childhood friend, Alani, were two insightful children when they were still living in the grand kingdom of Atlas. Seeing other Faunus suffer from discrimination, which in return the humans themselves suffer from retaliation, they had seen it all. But just how far will they keep their mouth shut about all of these?

Moving to Vale and enrolling into Signal Academy just for the sheer hell of it - something they're both thankful for enabling… or neglecting parents; however you'll see it as - they were right there when Beacon Academy fell. From witnessing the disaster that had fallen on the once beautiful kingdom, drove the already curious boy and the justice-impelled girl into a frenzy. With Roy impersonating as a White Fang member during the fall for a few hours, he was easily able to gather much needed information from some gullible grunts. Sending his best friend, Alani, into the field she knew best - photography and journalism - the teen was able to document the rise of the Red Fang, and the Counter-Faunus Confederation. Cause hey, that's what teens do nowadays, right?

Stowing away to Vacuo’s Shade Academy on the only excuse of wanting to see the world, Roy took Alani to the land of the lawless - a land, that's ironically more just and fair than Atlas, than Mistral, and even Vale itself - and settled there for their home base for the time being...

Now...

Fortunately for Liam, being a hacker makes scaling the Military Grade Firewall a walk in the park. With the free web at his fingertips, Liam should be happy but he’s not. Maybe there’s something missing in his life that porn just cannot replace.

Maybe it’s a girlfriend.

So it’s not weird at all to hack into any and all Academy database to assign himself a hot female roommate, right? That’s just taking fate into your own hands, or something along those lines, right? And it's not like we totally can't live without internet either!

…that’s until he stumbled into Shade Academy’s database, home to Vacuo, the land of lawlessness. Too bad fate had other plans in mind and Liam is dragged into Shade Academy for the next four years of his life and into one crazy conspiracy to overthrow the Atlas Government, the CFC, and the Red Fang by his most-definitely-not-female roommate.

The Hunter Academy is meant to be exciting, but not this exciting. Between failed dates, failed grades, near-death experiences with Grimm, and maybe not quite failed hacks, Liam will slowly come to question the morality of his actions and the true price of freedom.

And does “freedom” truly exists, or is it just one concept for the peace of mind?

On the other hand, life wasn't always quite so simple for orphan Lily. Being a street artist in Mistral, she was always running away from the Mistral Police and their Defense Force. After all, she’s guilty of vandalism and inciting riots - acts for her supposed “propaganda” about how the rise of conflict was beginning. But lo and behold, Lily was right - evident by the fall of Beacon Academy. But all this wasn't just a simple hunch, it was from well-calculated guesses from being a past White Fang member.

Unable to live on the run while remaining in the Kingdom, Lily fled to Vacuo in hopes of shelter, using the lawlessness as a cover-up for her own “means of survival.” However, that was where all the fun began, as Alani just so happened to run right into her on her scouting mission that Roy had often sent her on; and Roy, taking interest at the supposed “criminal” into his group to overthrow the one main enemy, dictatorship and discrimination of both species.
