Solomon sat upon the rock quietly crying. He had just wanted to make friends with the other kids, there was no one in his colony his age. Yet they called him a freak and wanted to capture him..why were humans so cruel? He did nothing wrong..

Solomon coming from hebrew origin which means peace was partly inspired by the Solomon islands which was his first place when his colony migrated there for the season. His last name coming from old english simply means black wood. His colony got the name after hearing it from an old sailor.

Due to solomon’s species it’s common for them to live a few hundred years but tend to age slower than most human’s. Their appearance only catching up with them towards the end of their age. He is quite young for a merman but he definitely acts his age.

Gender isn’t really a concept among his colony of mermaids and merman often just using those to refer to someone with a more feminine or masculine appearance or those who generally identify as male or female. But solomon identifies as non binary, identifying themselves outside the gender binary of humans and choosing to identify himself with he/they pronouns, though he generally doesn’t care what you use.

Solomon is a merperson. He used to hate his species believing himself to be a freak because of what other humans used to call him when he was younger and having to flee to different areas to protect him and his family from being experimented on. It was only when he got older did he embrace his status as a merperson finding himself and other merpeople beautiful.

Generally speaking because solomon was never legally recognized in any country due to him not being human he was never officially stated as existing. He considers himself a resident of any ocean though.

Overall solomon is a cocky person. He knows he’s hot and he knows people are attracted to him, he also’s a big flirt using his looks and sweet talk to get what he wants. Though genuinely if you can get under solomon’s front of that you see he’s still just a child who wants to be loved. Break through that and you get either a loud caring best friend who lowkey acts like the dad friend or a loving ing partner who sticks by you through thick and thin and showers you with adoration.

Solomon is neutral good, his alignment is described as being respectful to his leaders feels no debt to them that has to be repaid.

Generally speaking due to the fact of solomon being a mermaid they tend to have likes that align with those. Such as the ocean and the beach. Seafood was a main part of his diet when he was still in the sea so while it isn’t his main source of diet now he still enjoys it. The wind reminds him of the ocean and the sound of the waves crashing.

Solomon hates dry areas, it dries out the moisturizer in his skin which is part of what helps him to survive on land. He also hates tomato’s just finding them gross. He hates pollution of the ocean since it causes sea animals and some of his fellow mermaids to die. And they hate divers since they’re one of the few threats they face since he could be “discovered by them”

Like most merpeople solomon was given the gift of being able to sing and enjoys doing it a lot finding it quite relaxing. He also enjoys reading as he was never able to do it underwater as often the pages would fall out due to them being soggy.

He gets annoyed when people talk in third person finding it annoying and almost childlike to do so, he also hates when people leave the water running as it’s perfectly good water being wasted.

It’s definitely easy to tell when solomon is happy. He’ll have a big smile on his face and will generally be a lot more easygoing and open up to people more.

It’s very easy to tell when solomon is mad. They’ll likely act calm towards the person before eventually building it up before full out lashing out at them and going on a full out rant. Though it’s very rare to see him in this mood.

Similar to anger sadness isn’t an emotion that solomon portrays often, if you manage to catch him when he’s sad likely he’s gonna be quietly crying since he doesn’t want attention drawn to himself.

It’s easy to tell when solomon is in love. He’s a lot more flustered around them and instead of flirting is a lot more sentimental and genuine around them, along with that he craves more of the other person’s physical touch.

Solomon was born in the southwestern ocean off the country of the solomon islands which is what partly inspired his names, though they didn’t stay long as soon after it was spring and his colony fled back to the Atlantic ocean where they rested. Though solomon was always curious about the human world..what were they like..how did they walk on two feet..why didn’t they have a tail like him? When he was around 5 he saw some human boys playing and he ed in of course not leaving the water. It wasn’t until he showed his tail off that they ran and called him a freak. His colony would then settle in another part of the ocean where it happened again. Why did humans hate him..?

As solomon would grow to get older he would learn to hate himself because of his species. Why was he born a merperson? Instead of a human, that way they could make human friends and have a good life. This hatred would continue on till he eventually realized that rejection was never his fault, it was the human’s. He himself was beautiful and so was their species. Humans..were just cruel. From there his self confidence grew..but the memories still remained and still sometimes had a deep cut.

Once solomon had reached 100 he was given the choice to stay underwater or go visit the human world. Choosing to go up on land he experienced walking for the first time and decided he wanted to stay. His parents privately enrolled him in rga while he got used to his human form and has been attending ever since.

Every winter during the holidays his family would go to the solomon islands as a celebration of sorts and apart of their migration to warmer waters during the cold months. He would spend time exploring the sunken ships that littered the island fascinated by the human objects there.

His worst memory was the first time he was rejected by humans. It hurt him and caused the first of many years of his own self hatred towards themselves and their species.
