BLACKPINK’s anticipated comeback

has been delayed until 2020 and fans

are absolutely devastated, demanding

answers from their record label YG

Entertainment. The 4D singers

recently confirmed they were working

on new music after the success

of their Kill This Love EP earlier this year.

It was widely rumoured that BLINKs would

hear the group’s new material this month.

In a statement on Wednesday, the label

said: ‘The comeback of girl group

BLACKPINK is likely to be delayed until

next year.’ Needless to say, BLINKs were

furious with the news and started the

trending hashtag #BLACKPINKLEAVEYG

to encourage the K-pop superstars to

part ways with the label.

Expressing their disappointment with the

delay, one heartbroken BLINK said:

‘This is honestly really sad. Imagine

wasting your youth for this kind of

treatment.’ ‘The girls deserve so much

better they get mistreated

like all the time,’ one added.

Another fan weighed in: ‘Upsetting and

frustrating. @UMG @Interscope

@ygent_official If this hashtag brings

attention to the situation, then so be it.

It’s better than being silent and not doing

anything. Tired of the lies. Don’t lie to the

consumers period.’ Comparing the

promotion of BLACKPINK to other YG

Entertainment artists, another BLINK

claimed: ‘Blackpink worked for years to

debut only to be given a total of 13 songs

in 3 years while male artists are given

multiple cb’s [comebacks] a year.’ For

many fans, the announcement has tainted

the exciting news this week that BLACKPINK

have become the first K-pop band to hit a

billion views on YouTube.

Their music video for 4D has been

played more than a billion times on

the platform, meaning they have

sured BTS and their DNA video

which is currently on more than 867

million streams. It’s been quite a week for

BLACKPINK as they were also featured on

TIME’s 100 Next list, which recognises

the most influential people in the world.
