「Yes. This plot is based on Mulan because my inner child loves it but you don’t need to know anything about Mulan to understand this plot.
This takes place in medieval-modern times with a few fantasy elements sprinkled in. So there are a few modern things such as modern medicine but otherwise, it’s in the medieval era. They live in a phallocentric society meaning that it is entirely male dominated and females are not allowed to do “men’s” jobs. Girls are to marry young and bear children, they don’t get to keep wages or work at all after they marry. Women are often treated as livestock. However, there are still cultures such as the elves where females are seen as equal to men.
Your Oc is a commander in the army, he is very highly regarded and known for being stone cold and extremely strict, yet a very effective commander.
Katarina is the daughter of Augustus Reinheart, once a General in the German army who was medically discharged when he was shot in the shoulder.
~Start~
A draft is issued and one man from every house is required to enlist in the army for four years. Katarina is an only child living alone with her father whose health has been worsening. She has no choice, Katarina hides her hair and face and runs off into the night assuming the name Katto.
Luckily her father had been training her to fight since she was three, however, she can’t handle a sword and fights with two twin blades ed down through her mother’s family. She is extremely good with them and even rivals Your Oc which causes him to take an an an immediate interest from the morning she s with him. One day she is extremely disrespectful and storms off.
He follows her and catches her bathing and finds out her ugly little secrets. What will he do? Why is he suddenly attracted to her?
It’s not until a few days later that Katarina receives a letter saying that her father has died and everything goes to hell. Katarina breaks down and isn’t seen for days. Your Oc finds her in the woods and comforts her but he has to go as it appears an army is marching on the camp. It’s the elves claiming that they have the princess, the king is gravely ill and hasn’t produced an heir so a girl by the name Katarina is next in line...」
