I sincerely apologize that my post is not as aesthetic, I am trying my best!

ɪɴᴛʀᴏᴅᴜᴄᴛɪᴏɴ:

Hello there!

I am Stanford F. Pines, Curator on the Gravity Falls Amino.

Unfortunately, I am inactive on this wonderful Amino due to personal reasons. I am planning to leave soon, and probably won't come back unless I will have a reason to stay. So I suppose this is the last thing you will see of me, and my finale message to Roleplaying 202 Amino.

Today, I will reveal my opinion about realistic characters and my problem with them.

ᴘʀᴏʙʟᴇᴍ:

I have heard about realistic characters only when I ed this Amino, and I must say, it is a cool concept, but in Public Chatrooms I often see the rule "realistic characters only", meaning that only characters with faceclaims are allowed.

Not everyone can find the perfect faceclaim, and NOT every character is human.

What about mythical creatures, anomalies and animals? Or HUMAN characters with crazy clothes?

And what if I want to create an extrodinary design that no one has ever seen before? For example, meet my character "Veteris of Obitus":

Veteris is clearly not a human, and does have a voiceclaim, full backstory, personality of his own and of course a deep meaning.

I normally see young and beautiful faceclaims too, but what about less "beautiful" ones? Ones with imperfections and flaws, those characters are more relatable and closer to reality.

I am aware some people can not draw, but there are solutions! Like commissions, or more detailed information about the character.

ᴇxᴘʟᴀɴᴀᴛɪᴏɴ:

Most good characters are ones that you can recognize by their silhouette.

See what I am talking about? These shapes give the character so much personality! I highly recommend watching animated movies like "Rango" in order to understand character designs better.

And please think about your character! Give your character a special trait that no other character has. For example, Veteris has a prosthetic leg made of steampunk, (Yes, he is considered disabled) small glasses and a unique shape of face with extremely long eyebrows.

Try drawing your character's silhouette. Can people recognize your character by the silhouette? Is the design easy to , but also interesting? Imperfections like Veteris' broken beak and missing leg will intrigue other people and make the character WAY more interesting. What makes your character stand out from other characters by personality and design? Think about it too!

Tell me in the comments, what do you think Veteris is like just by looking at this picture:

I expect to see similar comments.

For me, a character is not just something to Roleplay with in order to prevent boredom.

For me, it is much, MUCH more. If you'd take a look at my characters' stories and wikis on other Aminos, you'd see how much it is focused on appearances and how one of my characters named "Vera Crowford" despises the way she looks. So let me tell you all something personal - I create my characters not only to Roleplay, but teach people a lesson from my life experiences.

I Roleplay with people as Veteris of Obitus to see how they would react to a character who's not majestic or polite, like an experiment. I study people on Amino, and on the way teach them important life lessons.

Here is one from a Roleplay I had with a friend of mine:

. . .

Veteris of Obitus

Veteris closed his light cream-yellowish eyes after his words and nodded.

He pulled out his brownish pipe and began smoking. The dense smoke did not seem to bother him at all, and it was a way for him to remain calm and think logically.

"Mm. I see."

The masculine bird simply said, opening his eyes. He stepped towards his desk where he usually writes about spells.

He ducked down and grabbed a chessboard and placed it on the wooden desk.

"Lemme show ya somethin', Opal."

He said as he placed the pawns on the folded board.

"Let's say, uh, ya're the white team, aight? Ya see, the opponent team thinks ya're their enemie, an' the feelin' is mutual."

Then Veteris moved the pawns of both teams forward.

"Ya, the white team, ya surely think that the black team wishes a malicious decree upon ya . . ."

The old fowl moved the black queen of the other team and it captured the white one.

". . . And that's when ya fail."

Veteris stated.

"In life ya don' have any sides, there is no bad or good, hero or villain . . . There are only perspectives. The black team did not try to harm ya, but defend their precious kingdom.

'Tis ya'r choice whether to be the black team in somebody's perspective or not, and most importantly, who are ya? Ya're no one, until ya decide to be SOMEONE."

. . .

I insert meaningful messages to my Roleplays because I had many problems with my appearance in the past.

I was so afraid of my appearance and my insecurity increased after an incident on Amino, but then I questioned myself WHY.

Why do I have to be like this?? So I stopped.

I learned to accept who I am, so I created Veteris to resemble that.

His name means "old", and the rest means "of death", meaning that my old self is dead.

I am no longer the person who's insecure about their appearance, the old me is dead, and a new me now rules.

So for short, I mainly create my characters to teach people to "not judge a book by its cover".

sᴜᴍᴍᴀʀʏ:

I would love to see more extrodinary characters on this Amino!

ʟᴀsᴛ ɢᴏᴏᴅʙʏᴇ(?):

It was swell to meet you all. This Amino was a blast, but all things must come to an end, and so my adventures here.

I barley know anyone here, and prefer to stay out of group Roleplays.

Maybe one of you will be able to change my mind, but I do not think you really care, because who am I to you? Just an anonymous stranger.

So, I will leave in a week.

Unless . . .

Welcome to this Amino!

Well, instead of drawing your character, some find aesthetically-appealing picture of a random person on the internet, and claim it as their character's appearance.

I seriously hate face claims, since I make most of my ocs by drawing them, so I'm glad someone somewhat agrees with me :)
