Morty Smith will get his first Voting Tournament win in over five years | #BOTW2025 Update 03/29/25

The polls have now closed in the second match of the Group D stages in the 2025 Battle of the Week Voting Tournament, and when all the votes are counted in this match, we can announce the winner and loser of this match and here we go...

We can also call the race when it is all said and done with Group D, Morty Smith from Rick and Morty will get his first win in over five years since his last voting tournament appearance. He will take Match 2 of the Group D stages in the 2025 Battle of the Week Voting Tournament.

As the results stated in the graphic above, it’s a bit of a close match between these two characters from two adult animated series. A two-point differential between Morty and Bender to see who will take the second match of the group stages and hopefully shake up the standings, and while the latter did not happen, it was a close match and at the end of the day, the end of this match to be exact, it will be Morty who will come out on top. Morty Smith (Rick and Morty) will defeat Bender Rodriguez (Futurama) at poll closing with the final score of 23-21. Morty’s 52.3% of the votes over Bender’s 47.7% of the votes.

Take a look at the standings for Group D as of poll closing on this Saturday, March 29, no changes in the top two spots in the standings with the incumbent champion Moon Tobin (The Great North) still sitting in first place with 30 votes in his column with Cole Tillerman (Central Park) catching up to him by two votes with 28 votes in his column and sitting in second place. It’s the third and fourth place spots that got a flip with Morty Smith (Rick and Morty) in third place now with 23 votes in his column and Bender (Futurama) in fourth place with 21 votes in his column.
