The spotlight stays with the cartoon community as we enter a transitional week, going from April to May later this week. Cue NSYNC’s “It’s Gonna Be Me” for this week as we prepare to enter the new month of the year. But aside from that, we got a double set of matches for this week involving a candidate who got one win, two winless candidates, and a candidate who is the last one waiting to make her debut.

We have one winless candidate and one candidate who is on a winning streak... a one-win winning streak, and it’s a pair of heavy hitters who are expected to massively shake up the standings. Starting with Cole Tillerman (Central Park), he lost his first match in the 2025 season against the incumbent champion Moon Tobin (The Great North) in his rematch from last year’s group stage match and is expected to have a massive strikeback and is poised to take the frontrunner spot from Moon, who is currently on a bye. Then you have Morty Smith (Rick and Morty), who is on a winning streak after beating Bender (Futurama), his first win in five years. Currently sitting outside the playoff bubble, and could make his way back to the playoff bubble with a win or a loss. It’s all coming down to how many votes he can rack up to get into the bubble with his bye month coming up in May.
