:warning: HURT LEOPARD GECKO PICTURE WARNING [Small wounds and a little bit of blood]
my new dog had managed to break the door to my leopard geckos terrarium and got her out. I was at school at the time and my step dad found Bamboo (my gecko) laying on the floor next to my door and he said he thought she was dead at first. There was dirt everywhere and I new exactly which dog it was when he was telling me about it. She's looking a lot better today, but she's still slow and isn't eating. We're working on setting up a vet appointment for her as soon as they'll take her in, just to do a check up and see if they can do anything about the dirt under her eye lids.
What I need help with, is if any of you know of any ways I could try and get some dirt out of her eyelid? She can't close her eyes all the way and it really hurts me. I had given her a warm bath today to get some dirt off and clean the wound on her head/look at her health in general. Please let me know if you guys know of anything I could do until I get her to the vet

If they have dirt under thr eyelid it's probably the safest to leave that to the vet. Most let you make emergency appointments.
If you have something you can gently dab the external wounds with a safe desinfectant in the meantime.
Definitly set him up in a quarantine enclosure to avoid getting more dirt into open wounds to help orevent infections.
Not eating is most likely from the stress of the attack, but could also be from injuries, so you wanna get that checked.
It looks like your gecko got lucky but to prevent that in the future a reptile tank should be set up in a room where the dogs never have unattended access to.
I sadly don't really know about getting the dirt form under her eyes I'd just leave it to the vet.
I honestly would call the vet for an emergency as it would get the eyes looked at quicker, but also is worry about the bacteria in a dog's mouth even more so with a cat, so even if the wound isn't horrible there's the aftermath that could be a hell of a lot worse.
Ofc the Leos not gonna eat for a little while they need to relax again and get settled before they'll eat again, but if they're on the older side I probably wouldn't worry about it.
But I definitely would keep that dog out of the room or keep it on harness and leash and only allow it in when you are in the room. If it's some sort of ratter breed or any sort of hinting breed that could potentially explain it simply as an impulse in the dog that can sometimes be hard to control especially without training. But all dog breeds have the possibility, yk?
