Top 10 Worst Albums of 2023

This is my top ten worst albums of this year as the title suggests, where I rank said albums, give my short summary as I’ve reviewed these albums previously, give some dishonorable tracks, and the rating it got.

Before I get into the list, I have one dishonorable mention album, one I have not listened to at all.

Tom MacDonald & Adam Calhoun - The Brave 2

I’m just tired of stuffing one of these two or even both of these clout chasing clowns trying to fit in with lyrical hip hop culture and trying to trigger everyone…and I’m sure everyone else is. Hopefully we can put these idiots in the past now.

Coi Leray - COI

I do not know why this year’s music trend had to be sampling classic songs and absolutely ruining it in any way possible, but here we are. This was one of those albums that did pretty much that and the more obvious the interpolation/sample, the more offensive the tracks were.

NF - HOPE

Speaking of offensive, I offended a bit of NF fans when posting my initial review and I still stand by it. This felt like NF at his most personal as it seemed, but also his most melodramatic and it failed in many ways to me.

Sexyy Red - Hood Hottest Princess

I don’t know what Fantano was smoking when he gave this an 8 because this was the most annoying, yet so unoriginal hip-hop project of this year. I hope she actually is just a one time thing because I would much rather listen to Ice Spice if I wanted to hear a female rapper do the same formula over and over again.

Macklemore - BEN

While I said Sexyy Red’s project was the most annoying hip-hop project to come out, there are some worse actual projects in that genre and Macklemore is one of them. Let’s be honest…did we expect Macklemore to drop a good album in this generation? I think he needs to go back to collaborating with Ryan Lewis.

Lil Pump - Lil Pump 2

Much like Macklemore, did we expect Lil Pump 2 to drop a banger project? Of course not, but I think with this, I didn’t expect it to be THIS TERRIBLE. I mean there are even songs on here that can be claimed as worst songs of the year contenders.

Thirty Seconds To Mars - It’s The End Of The World But It’s A Beautiful Day

I honestly…wanted this album to be decent at least after the train wreck that was "AMERICA." The first single, "Stuck," did grow on me, but as for the other singles, they weren’t promising and the whole album after that single as the intro was a snoozefest.

Busta Rhymes - BLOCKBUSTA

In comes what I think is the worst hip-hop project this year cracking the top 3. Busta Rhymes promised with a stacked tracklist and features and fumbled the bag by following the nostalgia sampling trend and rapping over…dance beats. Also "STAND UP" is the worst song of the year hands down.

Lukas Graham - 4 (The Pink Album)

I don’t think there is much to say about this. It’s a Lukas Graham album, expect possibly more insultingly bad? God forbid we need him with G-Eazy this year!

Roger Waters - Dark Side of the Moon Redux

Two albums left over the worst hip-hop release and this one is a spoken word album over Dark Side of The Moon as Roger talks about modern society. It just feels like such a milking of the classic Pink Floyd album and it isn’t the first…or at least to put it nicely WORST attempt at milking a Pink Floyd album, but it’s still a slog to get through.

6ix9ine - Leyenda Viva

As much as I dodged a bullet putting the more likely obvious answer of Tom MacDonald and Adam Calhoun up at the top, I couldn’t dodge listening to the surprise release of 6ix9ine and hoo boy…having to hear 31 minutes of him doing Reggaeton, which I’ve already heard him do poorly on even his rapping projects, it was actual pain and I don’t think I plan to follow this guys music now after that.
