Hello again lovely s. I feel that I should address the fact that I, as the art curator, have literally had tumbleweeds in my art life. I was having a bit of a stump and honestly spent whatever little free time I had playing overwatch to de stress instead of draw. That being said it’s been over a month since I’ve last even attempted to draw anything and that makes me hella sad.
This announcement is about me returning to the world of art and beginning to take time out of my life to make more art for you guys. As well, with my birthday coming up quite soon, my boo has told me he’s been saving up to get me an ipad so I can begin working on learning digital art! I have some experience with digital art in the past but I know for a fact that I’m much more experienced in traditional over digital. This is also a call to all my lovely digital artists to give some tips on how you mastered your digital art! I can’t wait to make more art for you guys and I’m sorry you’ve had to wait so long for it

Honestly it’s all about just getting to know your program.
Experiment a lot, even if it’s not a full piece or anything serious. Test out what each tool does and figure out all the little kinks it may have.
It usually doesn’t take to long to get the basics down
Aw thank you  I usually tend to have trouble practicing with different tools as I tend to loose patience quickly but I will try and keep my patience and practice more~

Anytime! It can be tricky, but once you understand what tools you have at your disposal, you’ll be golden
Yo! I haven't seen much of your artwork but I'm glad you're able to return as an artist! I'm not sure if you have a computer but I tend to use Medibang Paint Pro and rely on the pen and correction tool when drawing the line art! That might give you a good start! But yeah, I wish you luck with your epic Art comeback!
Thank you fren I’m very excited to return to the world of artsu

You're welcome!
A really good piece of software that I use when I’m doing my digital art is called Procreate. You do have to buy it from the App Store but it’s definitely worth it :) there are other free apps like Adobe sketch that work well too but procreate lets you and files and images too.
I made the trade from traditional to digital a little under two months ago now but the best piece of advice I’ve gotten is to use as many layers as I need. That way I can edit and change things about certain parts of the image.
Another good tip I got early on was to try and use a lot more skeletons when doing anything because it’s so much easier to clean them up after. I hope these helped :)
Thank you very much. I will most likely get procreate to start off with and then eventually move onto paint tool sai when I feel more comfortable in the digital medium~

When you are able to get a computer drawing program, Clip Studio Paint is also worth a try. It costs the same as Sai, so it’s down to preference of tools, but I like CSP’s layout a lot more personally.
I made the switch from traditional to digital relatively recently(started about a year and a half ago), so I may be of help with tips.
Essentially, the biggest part is learning how to use the things you can only do digitally to your advantage. For example, to keep lineart clean, make a layer of just lineart and put it above every other layer. Also, if you aren’t comfortable sketching digitally, you can sketch traditionally and line over the image on a separate layer. Also, clipping layers are a godsend. You make a block of color you want to shade, make a clipping layer over the color, and the shading will only go over the below layer. That being said, excessive clipping use like that of yours truly increases layer amount dramatically. My record is almost 300.
So yeah that’s the stuff
Thank you for the tip! I’ve never done clipping before so I will totally try it out when I get the tablet.
