I missed a year

trapped in my home.

The government says don't go outside

it's not safe.

The media says people are dying by the day.

"Stay six feet apart," they say.

"Practice social distancing," they say.

"It's all lies," they say.

"It's all man-made," they say.

But I say,

"Will I make it out alive?"

"Will I ever hold my family close?"

"Will I get to kiss their faces and tell them how much I've missed them?"

I wonder when I will stop living in fear.
