The Ocean

there’s an ocean

i’m standing on the shore

sometimes the waves only touch my toes

but other times

they knock me over

every now and then

it takes me away

i drown

unable to breathe

s i n k i n g

for only a second

i rise above the water

and see a boat

a boat that came to save me
