Dear men
We don't feel flattered
Being compared
To the countless of women
That you compared
To the countless of women
Who came before them
And even if
There are barely any there
Even if
We're the first you'll compare
It really doesn't make us
Feel any kind of special
We don't want to know
If we kiss like her
Or if our grip
Is as firm as the other
Or any other feature
You'll think is a compliment
For when we
Get compared
All we hear
Is that you can't let go
And we will never
Be like her
...
Dear women
We too
Should not compare
Our lovers and partners
To those in our past
And keep them to standards
That change all the time

Background image by Myrtle Vreedenburgh although it's a Dutch site and you might need to translate. She's a therapist and on this page about her you can see the artwork at the bottom.

Standards is plural, however, meaning it's "change" not "changes". Standards that change all the time. Plural.
Still, thank you for pointing out what could've been a typo or such! :sparkles:
