Down by the clear waters of the river,

brightly painted fish hover

hidden by the shadows

of the trees unfold

Down by the aloof trees of the river,

blissfully ignorant

a chorus of birds sing their delight

exposed by the light

of the sun up high

Down by the side of the sharp rocks near the river,

feet swing back and forth

skimming on the muddy waters

refusing to dip down below

Oh, down by this river,

how far have you come?

Silence invades your mind

and scatters your soul

alert

of the loudness of this river

and startled by the scene that unfolds

Through the heavy vegetation of this river,

A Jaguar pushes its way through

disturbing the birds

scaring the fish

agitating the water

and amusing you

You thought, that down by the rocks

of this particularly splendid river

It'd struggle to breathe your scent

but that clearly has failed to happen

and the unforgiving beast catches a whiff of your scorched

black

soul,

and stares into the void behind your eyes

Now, standing on the rocks of this river

You inhale it all in,

hoping, that perhaps, you will succeed in trapping the scenery inside of you

and bring some colour back into your bones

the jaguar clearly does not agree, it howls

and angrily scratches at the rocks of this river

before crossing it with heavy paws

stalking up to you

Down, down by the parted waters of this river

fish swim away,

and you wish they'd take you along

as the jaguar snarls, its yellow teeth

promising much waited pain,

you close your eyes and you do not

wake up
