i lay in bed, past my alarm.

count the minutes:

one,

two,

three,

four.

one minute won't make me late.

just one more after that won't hurt -

and then another.

and then another.

and after that, i'll get up.

after that, my day will start

and i will wake up.

oh, but if i just had one more minute

(an infinite number of ones, really)

of rest.
