Only the mountains

could describe how he feels

looming in on silent mist

Watching him stare in his own

rivers...

They had met beneath sheets of

noon and rain

of jade combing through feathers

She held with the most gentle touch

Forests exploring in her eyes

Even the showered hills

who were so wrapped up in their

chantings of dew

Would toss silver hair to see

Soon enough they would hold

each other

Like clouds hold the moon

Comion shining

in the foggiest skies

All watched on in patient delight

Reminded of the time

when that same moon

would glow back at the reservoir

of stars

just as brightly

They were like gods of wood

who woke up to the call of a distant

thought

ing the other

and holding hands with night

But then came the day

that was spelled in faint rays

A morning sun shocked

At her tear strewn face

A midnight haired man

desperately reaching for why

She would have to depart

Then mist came with its

concealing arms

To steal her and the dawn away

Whispered words only left with he

“I’ll return.”

Blossoms nor feathers

are moved today

But they line his path

meant to carve further from hers

Clinging on to the memory

like mountains to sapphire waters

Clouds have endlessly spun

Draining the sky of color

A lapping in his eternal rivers

caused by hollowness draining his

heart

chanting:

Take me beyond the stone

garden walls

Where phoenixes dance

And peacocks fly

With jewels of sundrops

Wine of moon

To her smile dappled with kindness

Forests blossoming in her eyes

So she may feed and tame

my heart with light

before it harms my soul
