1. My name is Levi and I am 13. I have always loved all types of animals and I love art!
2. Currently I a dog, and crested gecko. I the past i have owned betta fish and 2 gerbils.
3. I got introduced to rats because i have been looking into getting a new pet. I was researching hamsters and gerbils again. But i found some videos and started doing research on them and I think that they are so cute and fun and i hope to get some!
4. My hobbies are drawing, painting, playing tennis, doing school clubs, and of course caring for my animals
5. Idk what my favorite is. I think that grey and white ones are extra cute
6. I ed this amino to learn more about rats and to see if they are the right pet for me
7. The only thing i have to add is that if anyone has tips about care, convincing my parents to let me have rat, anything else or just picture of your rats i love to hear about it.

These are my babies!! Creme one it bear, black one is bandit and brown one is badger!! Rats are excellent pets!! They are very intelligent and loving but do require quite a bit of time! You should try and get your rats outside of their cage in a playpen of free roaming for at least 1 hour a day! They require large metal cages! Most pet shop cages are not suitable for rats the only one I say is suitable is the ferplast furret plus from pets at home but that’s depending where you live!! You can get many many different cages of Amazon and places like that! Cages are quite expensive they can get up to £300 with no accessories inside it!
They need lots of hammocks and houses and things to stimulate them when you are not with them! For a bedding, you need a dust extracted bedding like hermas (something like that) of zoo plus that’s what I use and it’s very good! Or you could use fleece with a puppy pad underneath to absorb all the pee! Rats are also very prone to getting Tumors and respiratory infections so there would be a possibility your rat may come down with a infection or tumour and vet bills can get quite pricy!! Oh and make sure there is a vet around you which will take in small animals like rats!! Sorry for the massive paragraph I like talking about rat care lol!
