2025 Parade Float Preparations

It's been a few months since the Parade application was approved and no work has been done on the float.

The Parade is under seven weeks away.

This is really cutting it fine.

Some supplies were purchased yesterday, though when researching, some items appeared much bigger online than in reality.

Some on-the-spot alternative planning and purchasing above the expected amount were essential.

Here's our first task update.

Costuming

Foundation dress

The dress already exists. No production required.

Illuminated lettering was removed some months ago.

Requires a wash and iron.

Tail

Requires extensions to be produced and sewn on to existing tailpiece.

Requires front belt section to be re-created and attached.

Requires entire reconfiguration to make existing wings lighter in weight, stronger and able to hold itself up.

Float

The float sign is a sign provided to every float, which has their organisation/individual name (as applicable), marshalling location and Parade number.

Since this is only collected once at registration on Parade day (evening), no work can be done with this until at the Marshalling Area immediately prior to the Parade.

This will require holes to be drilled and signage/props attached.
