So Much Activity!

As of late, there has been a considerable spike in activity in this amino. We’re happy to see so many sinners interacting in the community. However, with more activity, there comes more unforeseeable issues.

Firstly, this is a chat based community. The team is most definitely more active in chat rooms than anywhere else. We chat with you guys for the majority of the time we’re active some days.

We have noticed, that there has been a rise in chats that make our jobs more difficult, and thusly effect the quality of the community!

Chats with unsustainable topics, or no topic.

Chats have recently been created that have unsustainable topics, or no real topic at all. This means that these chats need cleared frequently as they die out faster. This means more moderation, more pulling chats, more angry people that we have to deal with because of frequent chat clears.

Some of these chats are little more than spam in technicality. They often have a poor description, short chat rules, no background. They are breeding grounds for long off topic conversations that end with silence, and the inevitable death of the chat.

Chat Leaders

With Chat Leaders now in the community, this is also very unfair to them. Chat leaders host long term chats, (ones that won’t be cleared) That they are in charge of moderating. Chat leaders are expected to have their descriptions written a certain way, they have specific instruction and their chats have certain requirements. Because of their badge, they are being held to a higher Chat standard.

If the chats are clogged with half active chats with no real topic...then it makes it hard for them to do their jobs. It becomes more difficult for them to sustain their chats and I’m sure this can be very discouraging to have your chat buried.

Chats No longer Allowed

Scream the lyrics chats, chats about a drawing or a post you are making, dedicated meme chats, I’m bored chats, and any other chat that are considered to be grouped in this category.

What should I do?

If you want to make a chat, that is sustainable I’ve got a few tips!

:tophat: Make the topic more general.

Make a chat room about playing guitar, or about Pretty. Odd era. Make a general chat with an aesthetic theme. Make a chat about Literature, or Music Theory. All of these things can be Panic! At The Disco related. We really don’t make much of a fuss as long as something is kinda relevant or can be made relevant in the chats.

:tophat: Actively Moderate your Chat!

Check into your chats whenever you’re on! See what’s up. Shout HEY into the abyss if it’s dyed. Follow it. Look through what you missed and make sure no one is breaking guidelines. Make sure that people are reading your chat description and the guidelines!

:tophat: Close Old Chats.

When your chat has ed away, acknowledge it. We all have chats that die eventually, it’s very hard to keep a chat going forever. If you feel that this has happened to you, then by all means close your chat, and look forward to the future. , are only supposed to have two chats at once.

:tophat: Know the guidelines!

Make sure you read and understand the community guidelines, this helps things run so much smoother for everyone. Ideally, the team doesn’t want to have to insert themselves into your chat to yell at people. We don’t like to be the asshole in the situation.

:tophat: Make good chat descriptions!

If you want to attract people to your chat, and make running your chat easier, make a good description page!

Don’t just ramble a broken sentence, tell people to “do whatever, just follow guidelines...yeee” write out what your chat is about. You’re putting this somewhere for over 30,000 people to see!
