going over some reminders on how to

stay safe on ta and the wider amino

community.

in this blog, we will go over a number or

issues and situations that you should

always be aware about when chatting

to people online. Please read further

01 — Trading and selling safety

Because of this, safety is a top priority.

information such as your phone number or

address. In Situations like this, you need

to make sure that you aren’t giving out

banking information (if buying) and personal

addresses unless you can tell the is safe

and trustworthy.

Advice to keep safe when trading and selling :

- making sure they have good

  Such as reviews and proofs (in form of

  images).

- if someone requests to trade / sell with you on twice amino, please ask them for other handles (their trading instagram, eBay etc) so you can their and make sure you are able to trust them.

NEVER give out your social media unless you feel comfortable. If you have the idea to trade and sell, advice to you is to create your own seperate from your personal one in order to communicate with people you do not know.

02 — Online dating

Online dating is a safety hazard, not just for

you but also for the person you are initiating with in certain situations.

You will be developing a relationship, and may

not know who you are communicating with. you will never have met this person, and have no way of knowing who they are and their intentions if you are only talking over text.

My advice to you is, if you want to do this, start and use trustworthy applications that request to s when they . Unlike amino, they have better safety protocols directly linked to dating and online communication.

If you have done this on amino, or are currently doing it, please be safe and never to give out your personal information until you know you can trust them enough to know it.

03 — Social media + phone numbers

As stated in the trading and selling section,

please to be safe and cautious

when giving out social media and phone numbers.

I would NEVER suggest handing out phone numbers to people you meet online: that’s your own personal number that shouldn’t be given out to people you haven’t met or cannot trust.

Social media is also the case, as you may have pictures of yourself and others on the s you give out, which in turn does not only affect yourself but them also.

If you are willing to give out other s,

to think about that but also think

about creating an for online friends.

This way, you can communicate with them on other platforms without endangering yourself and others.

Also, your phone number is very precious as it is linked to many other things and by getting ones phone number someone can get such things as your location or address, full name and probably many other things as well.

04 — + sharing

Never share any s with people you don’t know. this is a rule. The key to being safe is not to give s and s to people you don’t know, as you NEVER know what they will or may do with your s.

It can damage your identity and personal information and situations.

If you catch anyone acting suspicious on twice amino, and you feel unsafe or worried about that their actions could lead to, please inform one of the mod . This includes trolls, bots and any other person who is creating a negative experience in chat rooms, pms or in posts.

As mods, we can only do so much to help and protect people in our communities: if someone is harassing you or making you feel unsafe intern application, reaching out to the app staff is the best way to go in of these situations.

Please , as stated in the online dating section, if you see red flags, leave. If you feel unsafe, leave. Before it gets any worse, leave. Even if we can only confront them & ban the ab, the mod team is always here. But again, in cases like threats, following you around communities etc etc it's best to amino staff themselves as they DO have the most power and can easily get the ab off the app for good.
