I heard they made a new Roblox httyd game and also a bunch of other new httyd based games but honestly I feel like they should stop putting money into new games and put effort into their original game school of dragons. I miss the game so much and it’s been my favourite game of all time :sob:

I honestly don't mind the shut down because now we have emulators that are being worked on to add more than what the og had ^^
Personally I'd prefer a new but similar httyd mmo game as the game was very poorly coded and outdated if it was brought back it would most likely die again anyways as it would probably cost more to run than to keep up
School of Dragons shut down because the company that ran it shut down and no one wanted to buy the rights to it. it was unfortunately unavoidable (there are fan ran versions of it tho but they aren't official)
It wasn't Httyd/DreamWorks fault for it's shut down. However, We can hope for something like it in the future (or play one of the fan ran ones like SoDOFF )
Plus sod was running on spaghetti code so I would prefer a remake or new version over the og^^"
you see theres the thing, they cant. the studio that made SOD was shut down and they had the code for it. Not only would another studio have to buy the license to use Dreamworks HTTYD IP but also would need the spaghetti code thats essentially been lost. They would need to build the game from the ground up. There is an Emulator for it tho
school of dragons was closed like 2 or 3 years ago by the company- they're never gonna add anything to it at all
the only reason people can still play it and it is because the fanbase basically saved it and made some servers for people to play in
