The Morden

       The Morden were one of the many races among the Starbrought, believed to be captured by the Utraens due to their unusual reproductive cycle being not entirely different from ants.

       From all the races captured by the Utraens that managed to escape and survive, the Morden are amongst the most vile and most dangerous. They're mostly nocturnal and underground dwellers, but they are sentient and deceptively cunning. That, paired with their blindvision and advanced nose make them relentless pursuers. Additionally, the Morden have dominated the art of the forge before being captured, with the sole intent of making weapons of war. Were it not for their stubbornness, tendency to kill each other for minor inconveniences and general lack of value for their own lives, it is believed the Morden would've spread through K'eltoria and devoured everything living.

Caste System

       The Morden follow a simple yet strict caste system, defined by the brood mother when deploying the "eggs".

        The Morden-urg are built like average humans, with notable osseous deformities in the shape of clumps along it's arms and backs. They are the runt of the Morden, what we would equate to worker ants. They can still put up a fight, specially in larger numbers, and the Morden will use the surplus of Morden-urg as cannon fodder.

       The Morden-viir are built like an average orc, but bulkier and sturdier, with the endurance to go long marches with minimal rest, food or water. They possess two notable horns protruding from the center of their cranium and following it's shape until it completes a fourth of a circle, before curving up slightly. They are the warrior caste, the solder ants of the colony, brutal, ruthless and boisterous, even a small number of them can be a deadly chance encounter.

       The Morden-gral are frail, small and hunchback, with shorter deformed limbs and soft craniums that deform further in clumps of soft bone as they mature. The Morden-gral are the spellcaster caste, and that's the only thing that ensures their continual survival in the strength-based society of the Morden. They have a plethora of spells at their disposal, but mostly evocation and necromancy spells. They are very rarely alone, choosing to move among their Morden-viir brethren for mutually assured protection.

       The Morden-durvla are considered abominations even amongst the Morden, who revile them. They are a strange mutation of the upper torso of a Morden-viir and a Durvla crawler, a crustacean-like giant creature the Morden raise as beast of burden and war. The lower half of the Durvla, consistent of 8 crablike legs spaced evenly in a circle and the lower carapaced abdomen form the lower half of the Morden-durvla. They are food-intensive and hard to groom to maturity, so no Morden hive will have more then a few dozen of these, but they are hardwired to be great bodyguards, and are always surrounding the warmaster and the brood mother, ensuring order in the main hive. Mind bogglingly, however, they are also capable of some innate spellcasting and have developed poison glands to imbue their bites, which they also harvest for their arrows.
