Happy Holidays, everybody!

I hope for those who celebrate that you had a lovely Christmas.

My dice goblin-y tendencies/dice addiction was fueled once again amidst my Christmas presents this year.

Very pleased by that.

As the picture shows, I received a pound of dice, which I added/dispersed amongst my collection.

And since it has finally been Christmas morning, my dad finally got to receive his dice bag, which he almost got on his birthday, but then I changed my mind.

He loved it! I watched him spend a good five minutes just marveling at the thing I made for him. It has pockets! He hadn't even gotten to the deck of dad joke cards inside. He was just over the moon that I would make something just for him. I did think it only fair he receive one when it occurred to me that he was the only one from my household to have not yet gotten one made by me. I had to amend that. I made originally made the first pair of dice bags as more proof of concept, and they became mine and one for my older sister. I did have access to fancy technology that let me custom make and get cut out charms for the dice bag for myself and my sister. The 3rd bag I made for my mom. By her own request, she didn't want charms on it and it is so far the only dice bag I've made that has never held dice. My mom uses it to hold a precious rock she treasures most greatly. The shire-stone. It's literally a rock I painted of shire inspired landscape and house and then put a chunk of felt to the underside so it wouldn't scratch and surfaces it was left on. By the time I got around to making a dice pouch for my dad, I no longer had access to the laser cutter to make a custom charm for him. So I just went out and bought him a charm, as you've seen in past posts.

Around the same time I was making those first 2 bags, though, my big sister was also trying to make a dice pouch for her at the time boyfriend because we were all getting interested in dnd and the guy needed a dice bag. Her design was of much more basic and simple construction for what she made for him. But after she saw what I made, she wanted one for herself, and I was happy to oblige and make one.

Anyways, there is now only 2 people presently that I'd consider making a dice bag for, and one if them is my late grandma. Even if I was not her favorite grandchild, I still think if she had been still mentally healthy and alive when I started getting into making dice bags for dnd, I would have made one for her, because that is my nature.

Anyway, thanks for reading if you got this far, and I wish you a happy new year!

Fun little update: I found out today that my true size dice bag can hold approximately 1.5 pounds of dice. Some of my local stores sell bags called "pound of dice". It is quite literally a thicker gage clear plastic bag containing roughly 80-100 randomized dice, weighing roughly about a pound (~0.45kg) in contents per bag. Well, my dad emptied an entire pound of the dice into his dice pouch, and there was room for about half of 1 more bags.

Fun!
