Meet Masaru
![How a fun bit of flavoring overthrew a small kingdom…-Meet Masaru

Masaru is one of my PCs, he’s a Path of the Storm](https://image.staticox.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fpm1.aminoapps.vertvonline.info%2F8134%2F2b15e23c12078bfe6b917648b3cdfcfcb5670da9r1-1310-2048v2_hq.jpg)
Masaru is one of my PCs, he’s a Path of the Storm Herald Barbarian (Desert) and is obviously very heavily Japanese inspired with even his greatsword flavored as a Nodachi.
I decided to give him some fun flavoring like his sandstorm being the souls of enemies he’s felled. He’s a bit of a combat junkie, kinda like Kenpachi Zaraki for all my fellow Bleach fans.
The other bit of flavor came in that gourd on his chest. It contains a substance called Black Saké. This is how he rages, by taking a swig of the Black Saké and channeling all of his anger and pain (as the Black Saké also heightens his senses including pain like good old Raiden aka Jack the Ripper for all my fellow MGR: Revengeance fans out there) and uses it in combat the same way you’d use Rage on a normal Barbarian.
Well one day our party was wandering and found a tyrant forcing all of his subjects to work for even the slightest bit of food and shelter, their only guaranteed source being a well.
So, while the party was deliberating on how to handle this, Masaru just got his gourd and sacrificed all of his Rage charges for the day to make all the peasants angry and savage enough to overthrow their king.
While the chaos roared our party got the item we needed and left.
And that’s the story of how a dangerous magic alcohol started a rebellion. To all those reading, players and DMs, please take to heart just how fun a little flavor can be.
