Hello there travellers, adventurers and dungeon masters! Im here to ask yet again for some help! I would like to make a campaign where the main story line is going to be about dragon riders! Each player being able to find his own dragon and so on, but of course there cant be a campaign without any NPCs! And thats why I have some things I need to cover!

1. What would be the name of the main dragon rider city? The campaign is going to take place in a world with flying islands!

2. What good names would a Dragon Rider have? Spit fire any ideas!

3. Do you have a smaller background on who they are and who they could be?

4. Do you have any dragon ideas?

If you have an answer to one or all questions, dont be afraid to send them right down into the comments!

1) Sometimes simple is better. Go with something like Skyheart, or if you want something a little grander “Aeruvs” is just Sky city in Latin with a v instead of a b

2) As in names for the NPC’s or the title of a dragon rider? If you want a title dragonrider is always fun, but Drakewarden and Wyrmtamer are some good ones too. Names for a character? If the dragon rider position is a grandeous one you could make them knights. “Dame Teous” and “Sir Valian” are just things like Righteous and Valiant and could be a fun naming convention to play with. Other good dragon rider names could be things like, and this is a spitball, Dahlia or Taven

3) I imagine Dahlia to be a “peasant” who bonded with her dragon by mistake. An act of kindness and luck brought them together and from then on Dahlia has strived to prove she is as good as any dragon rider, even if she speaks with a peasants accent and a rough tongue.

4) Dragons in D&D are usually considered more dangerous in their age and scale colour for personality but I think you could have some fun with it. Have each dragon amplify a quality of its rider! If a dragon rider is proud, have the dragon insanely prideful and refusing to back down even when injured. If a dragon rider is merciless, have the dragon be sadistic or ultra violent. Titles/Nicknamed for renowned or legendary dragons could be cool too. If you want to install fear in a player, an armoured wearing knight aboard a dragon named “Celebrimbor, the fury of the first war” is the way to do it!
