Mary was born and raised in nowhere, and she had been living there her entire life. She loves her husband (the Ranchhand) and has been with him even before "the incident" (do I need to explain?) She spends as much time as she can with him, despite how busy he always is. She has a locket with Ranchhand's picture in it that she wears everywhere, and she hasn't taken it off ever since she got it.
