Neutral B: Sludge Bomb

A very standard poison type attack, Sludge Bomb. Thankfully I found the perfect gif to show it off. Sludge Bomb is exactly as it sounds like, a bomb made of sludge.

If the presses Neutral B, Zoro will throw a Sludge Bomb. It's arced upwards a little bit, something similar to an uncharged Splat Bomb from Inklings moveset. If the holds down the B button, they can manually aim where the Sludge Bomb is thrown, in a full 180° direction. But it's important to that it will still have an arc to it

If it hits an opponent, they will take minimal damage from it. However they will take minimal damage overtime, as they have been poisoned. Something like how Joker's Eiha works.

Side B: Lash Out

Lash Out is a brand new Pokemon move introduced in Sword and Shield's Isle of Armour DLC. I can't find many gifs on it, so let's just start with the basic description of the move.

"The lashes out to vent its frustration toward the target."

Hmmm. Alright, I have an idea then! What if we made a move that would get more powerful as the character takes more damage? So the higher percent Zoroark is, the stronger this attack is. I like that idea, so i'll go with it.

The attack itself is one large horizontal claw slash. Depending on Zoro's damage percentage determines the attack and knockback output. If Zoro has little damage taken, little damage and knockback is lashed out. The more damage Zoro takes, the stronger the attack is.

Up B: Bounce

This is the only move Zoroark can learn that works well as a recovery move. The attack animation itself has the jump incredibly high into the sky, and come back turn the next turn. I think there's a pretty easy way to put this in Smash.

Pres-B once, Zoro will bounch high in the sky. It can be angled for good horizontal distance, and vertical distance overall. Pressing Down-B again, Zoroark will bounce back down with force, bouncing down with a hitbox. If it hits an opponent in the air while coming down, the opponent will be spiked down, while Zoro bounces back up. If Zoro lands on stage, a mini earthquake will happen around their landing area.

Down B: Illusion

Just like the last character I made a moveset on, Down-B is where everything changes. Illusion is Zoroark's special ability. Using Illusion allows Zoroark to disguise itself, or it's surroundings as something else. In battle it makes Zoro disguise itself as another Pokemon in your team.

I thought this could be a funny gimmick where at the start of the battle, Zoroark disguises itself as whatever character your opponent is playing. Then once it gets hit, it will phase back into normal Zoroark...but not only is that, basically useless in Smash, it's just kinda unfair and dumb. So I scrapped that idea.

Instead what I decided to do was take the literal definiton of an Illusion, and make that Zoroark's Down-B. So let me explain.

Zoroark's Down-B is like Incineroar's Revenge, a sorta-counter like move. Zoro will pose getting ready to be hit, when the presses down-B. If Zoro isn't hit at that time, the move will just end.

If Zoro is hit during this, Zoro will become slightly invisible, become a literal illusion. During this time, Zoro cannot be hit at all, but they can hit you.

The Illusion is on a timer whenever Zoro is hit, but it depends on what attack Zoro is hit with. If they are hit with a strong projectile, or an incredibly strong attack, the Illusion will last longer. If they are hit with a weak projectile or attack, the Illusion doesn't last as long. Some attacks just don't do anything either, like Mario's F.L.U.D.D.

Forward Smash: Sucker Punch

I feel as though I put Sucker Punch in nearly every Pokemon moveset I create, which is fine but at a point it almost feels like i'm copying and pasting. And there aren't many good gifs for this move either, so I use the same one of Toxicroak. Whatever, it's fine.

Zoro punchs forward with immense dark force, dealing a large amount of damage and knockback. It's a bit slow though, with a good amount of endlag to it.

Up Smash: Mega Kick

This is a very standard Normal type Pokemon move, Mega Kick can really mean anything. It's just a powerful kick with no specific animation. Because of this, i'm gonna just simply take ideas from other movesets and apply it here.

Zoroark performs a kicking frontflip, something like Fox's Up-Smash. Unlike Fox's up-smash though, this move is slower overall. It has a little bit more starting and ending lag. Because of this, the actual attack is a tad stronger too.

Down Smash: Shadow Claw

Shadow Claw is a bit of a basic move, there is no real specific animation for this. What happens is the s hands glow with a shadowy energy, and that same shadow forms a large claw. From there the can attack in any which way, I choose to make this a down-smash.

Zoro's claws glow with shadowy energy, and begins their attack. One claw strike in front, one claw swipe behind them. decently strong, and decently fast. Something akin to Wolf's down-smash.

Jab: Fury Swipes

Much like Sucker Punch, I feel like I use this move quite a lot! And typically as a Jab. Whatever, it works lol.

Jab 1 is a normal vlaw swipe

Jab 2 is another normal claw swipe

Rapid Jab comes next, no Jab 3. Zoro continuously slash's with their claws, until one final claw slash outwards.

Dash Attack: Pursuit

Pursuit is a basic Dark typed attack that has a simple animation. The just charges forward with dark bases energy, giving extra power. I imagine the same would be for Zoroarks dash attack. Just a simple shoulder bash or head bash, with dark energy infront of the to inflict more damage.

Side-Tilt: Night Slash

This is the best part about Pokemon moves, and Pokemon fighters in Smash. Most of the time, you can just do whatever you want in movesets, and use many different moves as a base. Even then, some moves are just simple, like Night Slash. All that happens is Zoro slashing forward with one claw.

So that's what this is. Zoro slash's their clawb foreward with immense strength and speed. Yes, this side-tilt is also very strong.

Up-Tilt: Claw Swipe

This is the last move I'm working on in this blog, and I just kinda want to finish it soo something simple.

Zoroark swipes one claw above them, in an arced motion, something like DK's Up-tilt. A quick and weak up-tilt.

Down-Tilt: Low Kick

Yet again, another move I feel like I use a lot. There are just so many Pokemon moves with simple names and descriptions that can be used. This is one of them

Zoro crouch's on the ground, sweeping their leg around infront of them. The kick sends opponents away, and a little angled downwards. So it's a pretty good ledge option to 2 frame people.

Neutral Air: Dark Pulse

This is a fun move to talk about, Dark Pulse. A rather simple one too.

While Zoro is in midair, a red/black ball burst of energy will radiate out of Zoro, causing a strong wave effect around the . You may be familiar with Greninja's N-air, which is a burst of water. This N-air is similar that in a sense.

This N-air is very strong at the start of the move, as it has a stronger hitbox at first. After a while it will be replaced with a weaker hitbox. If hit with the strong hitbox, the opponent will take a good amount of damage, but quite a lot of knockback. With the weak hitbox, that's all lowered to be weaker obviously. The move itself is slow, with high starting lag and endlag.

Forward Air: Copycat

So the joke here is that i've named the Forward air Copycat, based on a move Zoro can learn in game, because Zoro will be copying Wolf's F-air as an attack...Clever or lazy?

So yeah, Zoro takes their claw and swipes downwards infront of them. Perhaps it would be Zoro using Shadow Claw again? It's like Wolf's F-air but instead of a combo tool, it's just a simple option to send opponents away. Nothing strong, but decent all around.

Back Air: Throat Chop

Very simple move to explain here. As Zoroark turns around, they get ready to karate chop horizontally behind them, that's the animation for the move. As most of the other aerials here, the attack is slow but strong. It's probably the best killing option at higher percents, as it will be the quickest out of the aerials by a couple frames. N-air would be a good air dodge/mixup option though

Up Air: Upwards Kick

This aerial is a bit different to the other ones, it's weaker with less damage and knockback output. It's kinda've a combo tool? But basicallynit's just not that strong, different to the other aerials.

The Kick is similar to Mii Brawler's kick, animation shown above.

Down Air: Claw Slash

This is one of the worst pictures i've made for a blog, but it works well, and it's still a pretty simple move to understand.

This move is ripped right out of Zoro's Pokeball hit animation, specifically the final hit. A downwards claw strike that spikes opponents down. Funny enough, a fighter already has a move exactly like that. Wolf!

So I can kinda base mine off of Wolf's D-air.

Final Smash: Night Daze

I didn't entirely know what to do for a Final Smash, then I found this gif above and went "yeah, that definitely works" and found it the move was Night Daze.

A large circular wave of darkness radiates out of Zoroark, covering an extremely large distance of the . Anyone hit will take multiple damage, then sent flying outwards. It's basically Magic Burst...A final Smash that's similar to another basic attack...man Hero is so jank and I love it.

I highly doubt they would take Zoroark out of the Pokeball item and make them a real fighter.

Ever notice how nearly every Generation is represented in Smash Bros? Except for 3 Gens?

Gen 3, 5 and 8 do not have reps in Smash. Gen 8 just came out so it's obvious as to why they don't have a rep. But Gen 3 and Gen 5 were skipped.

Generation has 6 Reps though, if you count Pokemon Trainer as 3 seperate characters. I know Gen 1 is the start of the series, but 6 fighters!? Too much in my opinion.

I say we get rid of Jigglypuff in place of a Gen 3 or Gen 5 Pokemon. Or get rid of Pokemon Trainer again.
