[¡SPOiLERS!] Super Mario Odyssey 100% Guide - Cloud Kingdom

Welcome to the sixtfth is post in my series of posts that are all alert of my second 100% Game Completion Guide! These posts basically go over how to obtain every collectible in a specific kingdom, eventually covering the entire game! So I figured I would compile guides and maps into one post per kingdom for ease of access, just so you won’t have to deal with website ads, and all the problems some websites have.

So if you have any questions about moons or regional coins please ask in the comments and I will reply to all comments!

Before we get into the item locations, let’s take a look at the in-game “brochure”, or description, about the Cloud Kingdom!

Life Above the Clouds

Perhaps everyone has had the experience of looking up at the clouds and imagining what it would be like to live among them. As it turns out, as fantastical as it may sound, there was once such a kingdom whose citizens looked down on the world from a fluffy, puffy paradise.

Strangely Floaty Material

While the particles that make up a cloud are extremely small and light, researchers have recently discovered a kind of cloud-like material that one can walk on. First discovered in Fossil Falls, this substance can change into and hold new shapes and even weight. The discovery prompted certain researchers to open an investigation into whether there might have once been a “cloud kingdom” in the sky.

Vestiges of Greatness

Once researchers started looking for places in the sky, they quickly found a large platform of the levitating substance, dubbed Nimbus Arena. Mysteriously, the land had markings that accurately showed the waxing and waning phases of the moon. Now, besides the obvious “how,” researchers had to question “why?”

Giant Cloud Arches

Researchers are thus far baffled by the large cloud archway here. Some theorize that it’s a kind of reticle that aligns with the moon. Some evidence suggests that the arch pulled this kingdom’s Moon Rock to a specific location from the moon. The only certainty is that the Cloud Kingdom will continue to interest researchers for many years.

Showers of Flowers

The investigation is concluded now and yielded few undisputed facts. But the bits of cloud that fall like flower petals here make it the most dreamlike place you’ll ever visit.

Three Keys to the Kingdom

Navigate the vast sea of clouds that seem to go on forever.

Feel the unyielding cloud-floor that won’t budge no matter how you stomp.

Explore the remnants of the civilization that once existed here.

Please use the map above to aid you in finding the Power Moons! Please note: Power Moons 8-9 are in the same Sub Location!

Power moons 1 and 2 are available after you defeat Bowser at the end of the campaign. Power moons 3-9 are available after you beat Bowser for the final time and smash the moon rock in this level.

1. Picture Match: Basically A Goomba:

Check out the pictures above to see which pieces you need to move and where you need to place them.

2. Peach in the Cloud Kingdom

Veer northeast on the main platform and speak to Princess Peach to get this power moon.

3. Digging in the… Clouds?

A bit southeast of the center of the central platform, you’ll see a marker for this power moon. Walk to it, and ground pound to unveil it.

4. High, High Above the Clouds

Off the western edge of the central platform, you’ll find a smaller platform. Use Cappy to make your way there, and then ground pound to raise the final platform. Your goal is to throw Cappy to make cloud platforms appear and make your way to the power moon.

5. Crossing the Cloud Sea

Underneath where you broke the moon rock, you’ll find a keyhole block in the ground. You’ll need to platform your way across small clouds, facing away from the central platform. The hardest part (aside from the jumping) is triggering the clouds with Cappy. The trick? Twitch your controller, so that Cappy flies to the nearest target. Even if your aim is off, he’ll find it.

6. Taking Notes: Up and Down

Off the eastern edge of the central platform, you’ll find a smaller platform. Use Cappy to make your way there, and then ground pound to raise the final platform. Your goal is to jump and the treble clef, and use Cappy to collect all of the musical notes that then appear.

7. Picture Match: A Stellar Goomba!

This is a more difficult version of the previous picture match because it requires a score of 90 or better. Check out the gallery above to see which pieces you need to move and rotate and where you need to place them.

8. King of the Cube! and 9. The Sixth Face:

For the first, you’ll need to collect five power moon pieces, and there’s one in each of the five sides of the cube that 2-D Mario runs through. Don’t try anything clever, and you’ll literally walk through them. To get power moon 9, you’ll need to hit two hidden blocks in the room with the lava and travel through a green pipe.
