PERSONALITY

Rei is a very high tempered, rambunctious, and clever young woman who tends to find herself in many difficult situations. Sometimes her anger will get the best of her, resulting in solving an issue through violence. Despite her violent nature, she’s very overprotective over those she holds dear and in reality, doesn’t know how to communicate well with others. She would end up ignoring them until the person gives up in trying to hold a conversation. She’s also very persistent when it comes to breaking out of prisons. She sometimes puts up a innocent facade just to break out with ease. If that doesn’t work, she’ll most likely steal anything that will help her gain her freedom.

Without being provoked, she’s quite cold and reserved. She really doesn’t like to converse with others much since she has serious trust issues. She won’t hesitate to beat the living daylights out of someone within 5 feet of her.

BACKGROUND

Born into a rich family in Italy, Rei was raised for the sole purpose of making her family even wealthier. Her father didn’t care much for her, for the fact she was born a girl instead of a boy as he wanted, but decides to use her to his advantage. Bruno was formerly a kickboxer as well, so he then decides to train Rei for illegal matches. Most of this training occurred during her early childhood.

These matches occurred often underground. Rei tried her best to impress her father but he did not acknowledge her one bit. At times when Rei would lose a match, her father would beat her and lock her up for days. Rei slowly became terrified of her father so she made sure to be careful of what actions to take that would not anger her father.

One day, Bruno decided to take over a rival family to expand his wealth and territory. He didn’t tell Rei about this and went about to their usual matches. Bruno targets the head of the family and lures him to a secluded area far from the match. Him and his men come armed and killed him right on the spot. Unfortunately, Rei happened to be there and started to freak out, trying to help the now dying man. Bruno simply ignored her outbursts and takes off as the crowd ran out to the exits, causing a massive disturbance that caught the attention of the police. Sure enough, they apprehended Rei for “first degree murder” as to what evidence pointed out.

Rei becomes very angry at this point and distrusts many people. She tends to escape prison just moments after they transfer her. She sets her own goal to find her wretched traitor of a father. At some point, it’s revealed that Bruno has killed Rei’s mother.

FUN FACTS

- She has no accent.

-She’s somewhat clumsy

-When she bites her tongue, she sometimes bleeds because of her teeth.

-Aside from trying to find her father, she also escapes prisons because she doesn’t want tattoos on her body. Unfortunately Nanba was able to catch her.

-Back when she had her matches, she’d beat up her opponent to a point where they almost died.

-The meaning of Rei is “law, rule; strive”.

-The nickname jailbird, really refers to her cockatoo like appearance.

- Her alias as “The Berserker” comes from her days as a kick-boxer where she would lose all rationality that would bring her to almost killing her opponent.

It’s later specified that she has IED (Intermittent Explosive Disorder) where she has random outbreaks, only when barely provoked. This was caused by the abuse in her childhood as well as the betrayal.

- She despises men for the most part. Being a kick-boxer, she was surrounded by them and none of them had respected her. Her father hit the final nail after he became the cause for her incarceration.

Therefore, upon entering Nanba, it was rather chaotic. The slightest touch by one of the inmates or guards had sent her on a violent rampage.
