Sketchy art(+new oc)

This was actually a rushed art piece I did for a school project. I finished it in like less than 2 hours. Ik, I didn't put much colord to it but I wanted to try putting more emphasis through black and white and saturated colors.

Anyways, regarding the message of the drawing, we were supposed to do a kind of presentation showing how much we learned about our country's language and history, and we had a bunch of options to choose from on how to show it. I obviously chose the poster form of course since it's one of my best ways of expression.

The winged character is inspired by the Philippine Eagle because to me, this bird is a symbol of power and freedom. Their action is to water the plant with our blood for our people and language have come a long way from history.

When you look at the background, you will see some underground cellars with the colors of the American and Spanish flags. I put it here because they locked us in our own land, and what they did in the past has deprived our language, culture, and to those who lived in those times. The cellar doors are open because we have escaped from them and become free, but we still have their influence, hence the chains.

Despite everything that has happened to us, we still have our language and culture. As the drawing shows, we must empower our culture. The blood, sweat, and tears of our ancestors will not be in vain and their heroic deeds will be ed and made a message for us to to return to the roots of our cultures because we are free and able. now spread our wings.

Yes ik it's pretty messy compared to other stuff I've written.
