Three days ed since their child was taken from them, Callum was released last night but refused to speak another word until further notice. Venn was lingering in bed as he stared at the ceiling. He realized they never even returned to the flower shop like they agreed on before everything went south, Eda and Lark had been left in the dark on this the entire time. So, he shot up out of bed, not having to be mindful of the commotion since his partner never ed him last night, if he even slept at all that is. Venn took in a deep sigh and threw his robe on, slipping a small flask into an inner pocket before he went over to check his remaining egg. Venn placed the egg on the bed, layering it in all the blankets to keep it warm in his absence. As he walked through the empty living room, Venn prepared to shield his eyes against the bright sun that contrasted heavily to the dark, depressing mood of their home.

Lark was vibing on the couch with Dahlia when she suddenly heard an apprehensive, but sort of erratic knock on the door. She guided Dahlia onto her shoulder, opening the door once she rushed over to it. "Hello?" Venn was dead silent as the door revealed him in his disheveled state. The yellow creature's voice died in his throat as he lingered on the porch as Lark stared at him with growing confusement. Lark gasped as her eyes landed on him. "Venn?!" What happened to you? We haven't seen you since.." Dahlia chirped at Venn, Lark brought a hand up to calm her. Venn looked away after Lark caught a good look of his tear stained face and red eyes. "Yeah, I'm sorry about standing you guys up I..." Venn trailed off with a weak, sad laugh. His voice was unusually gravelly. "Can I come in...?" Venn asked in the smallest tone imaginable as his eyes stayed glued to the ground.
Lark put a hand on his shoulder as she opened the door all the way, leading him inside. Eda and Sora were out for a trot with King, leaving a rather quiet house behind. Venn was slowly walking through the living room as his footing was less than graceful. He avoided looking at the side of the room where the cribs had now been shoved over to after they never came back to retrieve the objects. What was he supposed to even say now? Venn stared out into space as Lark shuffled around behind him.
Lark was the first one to sit down on the couch, she attempted to break the silence. "Did something happen...?" Her tone was low and caring, with growing fear. Venn turned around slowly, and lowered himself into the couch once he crossed the room. He was trying his hardest to keep his voice steady. "To say the very least, yeah..." He took another shaky breath as he leaned his head back into the fabric. Venn didn't know how he was going to get it out of his mouth without breaking down, so he opted to stare at the ceiling again for now. "The other day when...you were waiting for us..." Venn closed his eyes as he felt his chest tighten up all over again, then he took one more breath and started from the beginning.
