PSA: Keep Yourself Safe

Hiya amino BNHA community. I’m a nobody but here to tell you about something that is near and dear to me, Internet safety. You may be thinking Omg here goes that dumbass speech that my mom gives me again but let’s face it, I’m a much more relatable source than your mom.

A lot of Aminos do range in age from 13-20 years of age because thats the primary target audience. However My Hero Academia is one of those anime’s that’s being picked up by a wide range of ages. The reason is because it’s so popular and we all wouldn’t be here if we didn’t know why. Well obviously it’s because we like it.

Now there are likely some fake fans that are only here to troll or prey on us. Yes it’s very possible that the person who you think is 15 is actually a 43 year old perv who knows just enough about Deku’s backstory to get by. Not to say anyone older is not a real fan either and has every right to be here and enjoy this community, as long as they really are here to enjoy the fandom.

And what originally prompted me to write this was concern for any elementary school kids on here (who shouldn’t be here anyway but we all know you slip through.) Yes thanks to the mods and curators and even the self reporters who do their best to catch anything deemed inappropriate by amino guidelines we have a decently safe community. But there are almost 500,000 on here and it’s truly impossible to catch everyone and everything.

My point is as we continue to grow and inch even closer to that 500,000 bench mark just to be safe. I usually like to use my favorite quote from Zootopia to give myself and friends a pep talk “anyone can be anything” but in this case I will use it as a cautionary statement.

Just use common sense and have fun.
