[Tenya]: HeroAca Radio, All Might Nippon!
[Todoroki]: HeroAca Radio, All might.. Nippon.
[Tenya]: It felt good to say that! No wonder it is the tag line. Welcome back to another weekend with BokuNo Radio! I’m your host Tenya Iida! And my Co-host is wildly talented and hard working, would you like to introduce yourself?
[Todoroki]: Huh, right.. my name Is Todoroki shoto. Thank you for having me, I suppose.
[Tenya]: Yes! I am very excited to work with you Todoroki. A conversation with you is something I'm sure a lot of people would like to have with you. As one of the strongest and reserved students at UA. So, thank you for sharing this broadcast with me.
[Todoroki]: That's a bit too much, besides aren't you the class president? If anything, I find it very educative to accompany you. It is quite refreshing in comparison to.. my last session.
[Tenya]: Ah! That's high praise! And I did see that broadcast, he was giving you quite the hard time. Actually I have seen all the broadcasts multiple times using the ever handy recordings vault in preparation for this very show. Which leads me to the next point! about 3 minutes in the first topic should be introduced.
[Tenya]: What quirk would you like to have in addition to (on top of) the quirk you already have?
[Todoroki]: I see. I'll be sure to take a look at it sometime after practice, I heard many great broadcasts followed after mine. As for the topic, that's quite an interesting thing to ask and/or discuss about. In all honesty, I find it rather unnecessary to ask for more than what I already have, especially with how much I'm falling behind with my left side. However, If I were given the option I wouldn't mind going for a quirk like yours. So far my quirks are rather long ranged and slower than I want it to be. If I could close the distances faster thanks to your quirk, I wouldn't be opposed to it.
[Tenya]: Really? That’s a good idea. This thought experiment does implore the person answering it to attempt to cover their greatest weakness with their quirk with another strong quirk. I can't image how terrifying you would be to a villain moving that quickly- Oh! And your fire and ice could help you steer better than I can!
As for me I considered a cold type quirk similar to yours since keeping myself cooled down. It’s the most difficult part of my hero suite to have created and maintained. But fixing that would just created more pictures to my ability. Being able to run longer would mean I need more fuel storage for one and that is nearly impossible to work out considering the quote tank unquote is within my body. That would involve some kind of device giving me fuel as I run. Perhaps a re-worked hat with the straws could be viable-
That string of thoughts is veering away from the answer to the question. I would like to have Kirishima’s quirk for hardening. This would cover me in both safety and offense. Crashing would be less of an issue and going full speed my body would turn into that of a human torpedo. Though my image with the Iida family might come into question when associated with the words “Human Torpedo.”
[Todoroki]: That sounds very ideal. Kirishima's quirk as an add-on has benefits to many quirks. It is a wise choice. But for us to be granted it so freely will remain a distant desire, I suppose. I would like to know, how do you plan on improving these drawbacks to your quirk?
Currently, I am very focussed on balancing out what I have. After neglecting my left for so long it.. has undoubtedly been an issue when it comes to accuracy and tactic. U.A offers great , but I can't exactly deny the fact that my old man's harsh percussions has given me somewhat of a lesson learned.
[Tenya]: You cant possibly be blamed for troubles caused in your upbringing. All that matters now is that you're dedicated to curbing said issues, which from the sounds of your last statement you are!
The biggest issue I have is with steering, perhaps that is why it's improvement came to mind when looking into both our ideals for the pipe dream question. Since after a certain speed I'm no longer running, per say, it is more like jumping vertically very far and very fast. The law of motion is working against me in this case. All of the Iida's have to work intensely on making pin point turns especially with how dense the urban area is. It's good that we're both looking forward towards the future.
Let's take this conversation one step further. What training regimen have you taken to fix said problem?
[Todoroki]: I see, makes sense. However, shouldn't you be having enough relatives to advice you on that? You seem to be very close with them as well, I somewhat am amazed at your ion for them. It seems like.. it encourages you to move forward. I've just about realised how much emotions can play a role as drawback, so In certain times my past slips back into my thought. It sets me back a lot. The hero license exam most definitely scolded me perfectly for it. I suppose that is one thing I'm trying to improve. Quirk wise I'm working on being able to use it for a extended amount of time, leading up to using both at the same time. It's quite.. bothersome. Also, as mentioned closing distances faster and raising the heat of my flames. Despite the fact that that last point involves lessons from my old man..
[Tenya]: You're extremely right. I have a very unique opportunity because of how similar my quirk is to my family. And emotion does play a huge part positively and negatively like my lack of ability when confronting the villain stain. I think we've both had a share of letting anger and resentment get the better of us. I never realized we had this much in common!
Though my family has the same quirk, getting specific advice can prove difficult. We're human machines that do the same job but are build completely different. For example I drink orange juice as fuel and my brother's body prefers Grape juice. Think of it like cars, at low speeds anyone could learn. But picking up to how fast we do, you have to learn how each responds to the slightest change in angle. So I'm mostly alone in my endevo- er strive for absolute control over my speed.
Aizawa has recommended I put high value items such as phones or computer in my path to force myself to do better. Right now obstacle courses have been my main mode of training. Also it really is a wonder you have freely taken up studying under someone who you find so distasteful. That kind of resolve will definitely take you far in the pro hero world.
[Todoroki]: Very creative. And that explains a lot about the overall build and Uniqueness of your quirk. I often hear how relieving and ideal it must be to be a recommended, or better phrased.. a kid with two gifts. In all honesty, I am more so interested on those who structure and improve their quirk from a singular ability. There is much more thought progress required when you do it from scratch. Thanks for giving me your output on it, it really is informative to be accompanied by a class president rather than someone who could be remotely considered a comic entertainer, like the ones in a circus.
With that being said, we might have rambled long enough that it put our audience to sleep. I'd prefer to get back home soon to practice as well. Shall we move onto the calls?
[Tenya]: As Class representative, I am going to choose to hold back my amusement at your last statement no matter how difficult I find it. And yes! We got very into the topic today, time flew by! Though I did not expect talking about training would cause you to crave it how talking about food caused one to feel hungry.
I am very eager to see what kind of questions we will receive from all the kind and smart listeners! My sheer enthusiasm can hardly be contained.
[Todoroki]: It is something you could say I am ionate about, after all I'd still like to become a pro hero.. in my own ways. That being said, I agree. I am quite curious to hear of our audience.
Someone is calling
[Tenya]: Hello dedicated listener! We are very ecstatic to have you on the air! Please let us know your name and question.
[Camie]: Hello, my cute new friends! This is Hi-.. Camie Utsushimi, you know from the hero license exam! How pleasant to hear you two again, yet very unfortunate to have it be through the phone. If only we could speak on better .. perhaps somewhere more private, and less secure.. Ah, but I have a super exciting question for you two! Do you, and please explain how, do you use your quirk for day-to-day activities. You know like, for escaping.. and cleaning up bloody bodies- uh.. dirty utensils and such~!
[Tenya]: It is a pleasure, camie and quite amazing students from other schools are involved in this show, it gives us a way to stay in touch with one another! Which is important because one day soon we will all be working together as a team of heroes!
To answer your question since my quirk is a speed based one it would be helpful, but I pride myself on using public transportation to get me places quickly and cost effectively. Though it would be nice to use it in the case I was about to be late, I will only ever use my quirk in training or a crisis situation. What about you Todoroki?
[Todoroki]: Right, nice to hear of you Camie. I suppose we haven't properly spoken to each other yet. I hope you and your school is doing well.
Ah, I figured you'd say such a thing Iida. However, I don't see you ever being in need of it as the person who's always so awfully on time. For me, I suppose I use it for small matters such as cooling off my sister's cup in the morning when she's running late. I also on the occasion find myself being approached by cats, who enjoy leaning up to my left side. I suppose other than that there isn't many scenarios I need it for.
[Camie]: Hmm, I see..That's pretty wholesome, but not quite what I'd use it for. How nice of you two to let me hear you're still alive and well, though. And of course, thank you for answering my question! I hope to see you two, very, very soon. Ah, I'm already so excited for it! Aren't you as well? Have a safe day, heroes! Love, Camie.
Someone is calling
[Tenya]: Why yes I am- Oh she has hung up. Well that was very pleasant! Perhaps the next one will be just as much so. Hello! I can not wait to speak together, what is your name and question?
[Kirishima]: Hey Todoroki, Iida! Kirishima here, and I have a manly question for you both! What are the advantages and disadvantages to your quirk? Mine is that it’s really strong, but it isn’t as flashy as Midoriya’s or Todoroki’s quirk.
[Tenya]: Kirishima! I did not expect questions from people in my own class when we see each other regularly! And I feel I covered disadvantages of my quirk thoroughly earlier in the show, so in an effort not to repeat myself and bore viewers I will answer the advantage part. The biggest one is actually not part of being a hero. The fact that I run off orange juice is very convenient and kind to my wallet! That's probably a silly answer all things considered, but it is how I feel.
[Todoroki]: It is quite, silly.. but it does uplift the serious vibe we've brought around here. I apologize for that. Anyway, Kirishima. I am very pleased to hear of you. I hope you are doing well.
As for your question.. Well, that is quite simple. Advantage is that I can keep my distance, it's a good time stretcher for collecting thoughts and creating strategies.. However, in result of that my attacks can be quite predictable and slow. I'm working on it intensively.
[Kirishima]: Ahh, such manly answers! I haven’t been listening for too long, so I didn’t know you guys already covered disadvantages! I’ll see you both at class!
The line has disconnected
[Todoroki]: Bye, I suppose. Oh, he already hung up.
Someone is calling
[Tenya]: No worries, we already have another friend to distract us! How are you listener, what is your name and question!?
[Shinso]: Greetings I'm Hitoshi Shinso here from General studies. Yup that guy who fought Midoriya, you know, kid with purple hair , and sorry if I sound tired as hell, but here I am- anyways, my question is, what do you guys do to stay up for so long ? Besides sleep. I’m asking for a friend… Also coffee doesn't count, I’ve tried that… I apologize I meant my friend has tried that.
[Tenya]: Shinso? Are you not getting sleep? It is very important to get a minimum 9 hours a night for people our age especially with the intense physical and mental training we do here at UA. Rest is very important to the body's recovery from such things. I implore you to hang up immediately and get some sleep even if the aid of sleep based medication is required to reset your circadian rhythm.
[Todoroki]: Huh.. I agree, this applies to your friend as well. Sleep is indeed important, I don't stay up unless there is a good reason for it such as training, which I can only do with a good rest. However, I am in no place to instruct anyone on what to do. Perhaps, if your friend wants to stay up advice him/her to take naps throughout the day.
[Shinso]: Didn't I just say it was for my friend? Sorry, I guess you could see I lied, but I need another answer, I mean would your orange juice give you a lot of energy Iida? I mean after all you're always doing hand movements like you're a type of cheerleader. Is 1-A a secret cheerleading team? That would explain why so many of you are so loud and happy-I'm not judging you, just asking how in living hell you all can have so much energy with you all day. I see Todoroki, I'll tell them to get naps, I mean it could be easy right? Probably not but it won't hurt to try.
[Tenya]: C-cheerleader!? I execute my daily activities at a high level of energy due to the crushing pressure of my classmates relying on my leadership. It is that simple.
[Todoroki]: Huh. You might be a little off the edge there, not everyone is as loud as you think. If you ask me, there's only one in particular. I suppose it's a given with a class full of different students, personally I'm content with sitting in the back of the class, along with more responsible students such as Yaoyorozu.
You are correct. I suppose It wouldn't hurt to try. I hope you find a solution to your problem soon.
[Tenya]: Perhaps your unrest is causing the grouchy attitude? I stand my advice and implore you to get some rest.
[Todoroki]: He might've taken up your advice and disappeared to hit the sheets, Iida.
[Shinso]: Iida the head cheerleader- Sorry meant to say that in my mind. I'm not grouchy! That's rude of you to say that! I'm just very, what's the word? Annoyed and aggravated at times . Isn't she the one with the black pony tail? I've seen her sometimes, she's quite.... I suppose I should try this 'Nap' Thanks again, I think I'll head off now.
[Tenya]: Right, I think that is all we have time for. Thank you to everyone who called and a huge thanks to Todoroki for ing me. It had a great deal of fun discussing our quirks together!
[Todoroki]: It's been quite.. interesting. We dragged it out, but it was very pleasant accompanying you. I hope the listeners weren't too disinterested, I'm not as spontaneous about these things like most. Granted, next week's hosts will be able to make up for it, so please tune in. With that being said, I should really go home now..
[Tenya]: Bye Todoroki! Have a good night!!!
