I currently work as an apprentice spray painter at a crash repair shop. On Friday I took all my buell parts to work as I was hoping that I could paint them as a 'training exercise'.
I had 4 hours to kill so I started preping my fairings. I used a heat gun to remove the badges and stickers then used a wax and grease remover to get off the remaining glue. I used 1500 grit sandpaper and water to scuff up the old paint followed by a soft scotch pad and a surface prep paste.
Now to put my bike back together :ok_hand:

The colour I chose was a 3 Layer Pearl so I used wax and grease remover to clean the parts and then mounted them on stands in the paint booth.
I started with 2 coats of soul red base in glasurit water base paint.

The next step was 2 coats of Pearl

Followed by 2 coast of Clear coat and an hour backing at 65 degrees celsius.
