Could anyone lend me a helping paw? I've been going at that first alatreon hunt in iceborne for a while but i just can't seem to kill it.

Aaaaalright apologies for the wait, i was working on an anti-treon build. It's not quite done yet, but i figured i'd take it out for a test run.
What equipment have you been using? How can you usually fare in the fight?

-Dragon element barely works against Alatreon, bring a fire or ice weapon depending on the mode it starts on (I suppose you are doing the Blazing Black Twilight assignment where it starts fire active)
-I don't know the skills you are running but be seriously prepared: bring a build with fire/ice attack and/or crit eye, try searching for one online (cause I forgor most of world meta). Also unlock the level cap for your armor and augment your weapon as well, obviously make all these upgrades on the build you're going to use. There is basically no casual play against Alatreon, it's a monster that requires heavy preparation and constant efforts
-Alatreon is pretty much vulnerable when you learn to dance with its attack timings: Stay under him for the thunder rain, carefully through the fire geysers, when it sends rows of thunders forward go past them. Overcome your fear of dying and start calmly playing with risks in attempt to get rewarded
-For mantles I bet you can use rocksteady, temporal, the element ones and evasion also works to dodge and get rewarded. But whatever you do don't clutch claw on its head when it runs or summons thunders because that's gonna get your existence torn apart
-Tenderize with clutch claw on forelegs (most likely your main target) or backlegs, head is good already
-If you manage to weaken its Escaton, you might be able to survive it by consuming Astera Jerky to recover the red health you lose during the nova
