Introduction and Backstory

Jasper was born sometime in the 12th century. When exactly, he is unsure. Record-keeping wasn't exactly the best back then and he had spent a lot of time in the Netherrealm where the age of time is harder to keep track of.

His upbringing and early life was unremarkable to him. He was born to a peasant family in England and had four siblings.

Although never technically officially knighted, Jasper did fight in the crusades when he came of age, and had learned to battle with steel armour and sword.

At one point, he foolishly returned to a bloody battlefield where his side had suffered a defeat the day before, searching for supplies and weapons. Jasper encountered a strange figure that was disappearing with the deceased and he chased after it. Unknown to him, this was Quan Chi who would change the course of his life.

Quan Chi took Jasper to the Netherrealm and quickly saw a potential usefulness in his strength and ability to get things done. He brutally killed Jasper and turned him into a revenant, and he remained in this state for centuries. He retained his human memories but was essentially an immortal vessel to do the sorcerer's bidding, and spent most of his time in the Netherrealm as a fail-safe in case it was ever invaded.

(This next part depends on the timeline and tbh making sense of MK lore is a fool's errand).

During an intense battle against Liu Kang's forces, Quan Chi summoned Jasper from the Netherrealm to assist. The armoured revenant was a formidable force against the Earthrealmers, but after Quan Chi was defeated, Jasper soon followed. Quan Chi returned to the Netherrealm and left the revenant to what he assumed would be a gruesome fate.

Liu Kang and the others noticed that Jasper was an Earthrealmer. Similar to the spell Raiden did in MKX, Liu Kang was able to reverse Quan Chi's control over the man. Jasper was at first very confused by what had happened but soon realised the kind gesture that had been performed. He swore his loyalty to Liu Kang and to fight for Earth.

Appearance

Jasper is pretty tall by human standards, standing at 6'3". His build is muscular and solid. He is white and his skin is quite pale with freckles. His hair is long, just past shoulder length, and is wavey and golden blond. He has a short stubble beard, although due to his hair colour it isn't extremely noticeable. He appears to be around 25 years old.

He is normally donned in full steel plate armour, with or without a helmet. Prior to reing Earthrealm, he wore typical crusader armour with white and red fabric, although after that he is seen in the more "stereotypical" knight armour that was common in the 1500s, that is better suited for purpose.

Personality/Alignments

He is often confused by the modern Earthrealm but is willing to learn how to navigate the new technology and social norms. He tries, but he does fail.

Jasper is normally respectful, although he is often quick to be suspicious/skeptical of others. He is pretty protective over his Earthrealm allies and the best interests of Earth.

He has very strong morals and is pretty trustworthy. He is honest, loyal and sincere. However, he also has a tendency to be spiteful, reckless and aloof.

He resides with the White Lotus, but is also an ally to the Special Forces.
