Harsh Reality (backstory+short comic)

Mini comic (W.I.P) about Aiko Akazawa,my Japanese boy.

Aiko thought he was close with his family.His mother and father worked for the Japanese government,but still tried to find time for him.

For a while.

Over time,his parents seemed to....distance themselves from one another. He always heard shouting during the evenings, though they assured him nothing was wrong.His mother began disappearing at night, though he couldn't tell why.

Suddenly, his father disappeared.He didn't know why,so he asked his mother. He sat him down and told him that his father did something wrong and that he wasn't coming back,which ended up being the selling of confidential government secrets.Though the young child had his doubts,he accepted it,as did the rest of the city.When you're in a high position in a powerful company, these sorts of things spread like wildfire.

Though, after his fathers arrest,his mother began acting....strange.Any time he made a mistake, she'd beat him.He needed to be 'the man of the house',despite being so young.He needed to do everything perfectly and efficiently. He slowly spiraled into depression,bruises covering his body just like the freckles speckled around his skin.

His mother was transferred to a different government operation,in Paris, so 'she wouldn't have to grieve every time she entered the office'.She never ceased with her harshness.While she'd do the outside work,he'd do the house work.Cooking,cleaning,and taking care of everything in general.If he didn't, he'd be thrown out.He began questioning his mother,whether it was really his father at fault,or if it was her all along,though when he gathered up enough courage to ask,he was beat until he was scared to even say a word to her,or even anybody.

Though he was in a deep depression,he put on a happy-go-lucky act, helping others with their problems, while ignoring his own.As he healed others,he was only damaged further.He taught himself to smile through his tears,or everybody would leave him.

The last thing he ever heard from his father always echoed in his head.

'You can do this.'

Though he doubted that there was any truth to that.
