No... not that. ITS HALLOWEEN!!!

Hey whats up, snarly carlies. Fern is back with a spoopy post. As much as people like to argue that it isnt and people need to grow up and stop being babies. Minecraft, to some people, is geniunely and unironically scary. Whether its still like that or you're over that phase; at some point. Minecraft is or was scary to you. It was to me, as much I dont like to point out that it was but now getting to dig in and understand why it Hᔑᓭ, was just interesting and actually just fun. This post is actually based on a discussion me and my friends had and I thought it was pretty spooky as a atmosphere setting and interesting to some thats still in the dark.

This is based on my minecraft experience and general opinions. If you dont agree then great, I'd love to discuss it down below on the comment section but Im not out here, speaking for everyone about how minecraft is scary, just my Sᓵ╎ᒷリᓵᒷ opinion and it is a discussion to feel free to agree or disagree down below. Sorry about having to put this here but people can get, a little too corrective at times.

Anyways, lets get into the post by first starting off on what minecraft's rep is as a scary game.

The Built-In Atmosphere

Lets say its your first time playing by yourself, loading up a world and a couple seconds and you're in it. A world thats just you and you alone. Something about this gameMᔑ⊣╎ᓵ.should be very fun explorable, like you cant wait what you'll find. I dont know about you guys but when I got really into the game and nobody I knew was playing, I felt isolated. No, not that type of isolated where its like "I hope I had friends to play with *then I cri*". No, its more like "Huh, I guess Im the only one in the world, well as on for this current time".

At the end there, I mentioned that Im the only one playing as on for this current situation. Its because finding abandoned and broken down structures like mineshafts and temples makes you wonder what happened to the people or to the things that built these. In this show I really love, Adventure Time, it gives off the same feeling that isnt like jumpscare scary but just like subliminal or motif type of scary where they show you things that consists to each other like abadoned cities, undetonated bombs, destroyed military gears. Its where they dont spell out what happened here but instead you fill on the gaps yourself. Its like having to watch a horror movie and you keep seeing darkness over and over all over the your house thinking someone's in there.

Having that sense of post apocolyptic atmosphere, like a great danger happened here and could happen to you is pretty chilling and really makes you wonder the history of these structures.

As many people know, minecraft doesnt only have the overworld dimension to offer to us players, there is also The Nether and The End. Again, speaking from experience, finding out that there is so much more than this happy friendly green place was pretty fascinating and scary. Not to mention the foreign but also familiar appearance choices for these dimensions. The most common ones are Nether as hell and The End as heaven.

I always loved the idea of dimensions, parallel universes and space. So being able to explore these areas were so exciting but also frightening. Its because as much as we are open to the idea of alien life and other inhabital places than Earth. There also comes with the big fat obvious right in our face. We dont know jack-squat about these dimensions, what's in them? Is there any life, if there is how do they cope with this environment. Whats dangerous to us and what isnt, and there is so much more. Cᔑꖎꖎᒷ↸ These dimensions just reminds me the massive mystery and questions in life and so far, they havent been answering it with the friendly answers. I mean, ocean of lava? floating rocks on a purple void? That alone, scares the possibility of it being real and being there for it.

So besides the unknown extinction level event and interdimensional beings, theres also magic in minecraft. In a way, its experience bar is very correlating to mana or just magic to other concepts from other franchises and beliefs. Its like a fantasy form of currency that you exchange Iᓭ or use to add mystical ability on tools and armour such as fire aspect and projectile protection.

Again, its pretty amazing to know that you have the ability to reuse an arrow infinitely or surviving great heights that you would otherwise die from. However, evil is always lurking wherever you go. This isnt canon but I just overall thinl its a good theory even though its flawed, The Game Theory's theory about the wither being the reason why the 'old builders' or the people that used to live in the overworld. It is speculated, people are crazy with recent discovered phenomenons, its the great opportunities of having such a powerful and extraordinary ability which can be used for good and for bad. The fact that it can be considered as an ancient knowledge through manisfesting experience as magical eccence to your equipment really says a lot and with the wrong hands, it can be very threatening. So yeah, it sort of ties in with the dimension discussion too as its just a lot of potential out there.

Everlasting Vulnerability

One of the obvious reasons why people playing minecraft gets scared that they scream on the monitor or their heart is pumping so fast it could explode, is the fear of dying. Whoever is reading this and shakes their head when they read that people get scared dying in a game. Then get outta here :joy: :joy: , because I dont think I could explain something complicated when you're that realistic :joy: . Im just joking, stay please :joy: :pray: .

Anyways, even if you surround yourself with giant stone thick walls and has the most expensive, durable and enchanted armour and Uリᒷ ̇/!¡ꖎᔑ╎リᒷ↸ gear. Minecraft has its charm of constant danger lurking. Even if you build the most secure place, there is always a way for you to die. I learned that the hard way when I was playing (pretend) hardcore with my friends then even though I had the strongest gear and base. I managed to still die first and we had to delete the world of our promise :joy: :skull: 🗡.

I know, some people are still shaking their heads but trust me. You'll get it someday or if not, you have already. Maybe Im just reckless and impulsive but I honestly always had this feeling everytime I played minecraft back then, but now Im a bit more self controlled, I think :joy: . I mean there are so many factors and way of you leading to your death or digging your grave, like the hunger bar, hostile mobs always spawing, the unpredictability of minecraft physics :joy: and so much more.

Its A Creative Platform

You know its a wonderful game when you have a literally got the ability to do so much then what it was made for, or more accurately speaking and phrasing, what it can be. Minecraft is a wonderful creative platform that offers and opens a lot of varied communities and ideas to unite in a one common factor, the game itself. Modding a brand new boss into existence, creating a mechanical moving house, or making minecraft scarier than it already is.

All the points I discussed are still valid points, but those can be multiplied by eleven by simply attaching a few strings of your own. You can set newer and deeper atmosphere with more consistent and exposed messages. You can add new dimensions and worlds thats easily traveled with a simple step forward on a colourful portal. You can add the most strongest craftable sword that kills every entitly with a mighty swing and still have the possibility of dying with a frightening threat in the distance. Its endless.

You can transform minecraft into anything, for good and even for worse. You can make it as so you can have an easy life or forever be uneasy. Not to mention all the maps, skins, builds and artwork you can make. Add a little blood and post it on halloween, there you go! You made Minecraft scary :joy: literally. Though Mᔑリ|| not the entire game and community is on it and is standing with you but if you're into to that then why not. This may not be the canon and the actual game Minecraft, but its your version of it. Scary or not, its still part of the community which kind of makes it minecraft right? :joy: Sorry if this doesnt make any sense to you but I tried to explain. I usually do better at explaining complicated things but its late here so sshhh :joy: 🤐. Well anyways, I hope you still got a piece of what Im trying to say :joy: .
