So what would I do with (-4,0),(4,0),(2,0)? I think I would solve the problem by using that?

No that's not relevant. You have the factors and the constant. They make correct equation when you multiply them together (I checked on desmos)

First problem:

Start with an example. Pretend x=1. That means the length and width of the square both decrease by 2 (1 off the top bottom left and right) and with a height of 1 (since you folded up those flaps), the volume is just the new area times 1.

Expand that to any x. Take x off of each side twice, then calculate the new area, then multiply that by x.
