Nice things never lasted.

That's what had been thrumming through his head since he came to this island. Things come, and they go. They never stay. Especially for them — they were mutants. Good things didn't happen to them. Logan had learnt that much over all these years.

Snikt.

Logans claws unsheathed on his right hand, sliding from between his knuckles in a satisfying slide. It stung, for a moment, after all, he didn't feel pain like most people. It was like being pricked with a needle before it went again ‐ brief, momentary. He reached out, nudging the wood in the fire infront of him using the tips of the blades. The flames danced at the motion, flickering in the breeze, the smoke filtering up into the night sky. Tonight was calm. However, he could still hear the faint thumping of civilisation nearby. It was good enough.

He leaned back, then, ing his weight with his hands pushed behind him as he tilted his head up, eyeing the stars. His eyes narrowed as they focused and he soon find his mind wandering. The one dangerous thing about him being alone, as much as he preferred it (or at least, that's what he told himself), was that his mind still ticked on. It either let him figure out what the fuck he was feeling, or gave him a reason to be even more confused. Logan had big emotions, and even bigger outbursts. It was like he stood at the edge of a cliff constantly, and one small thing could tip him over the edge and make him snap—— Like he said, dangerous.

Logan wondered how many of those stars had been around as long as he had. That was a safer then getting in his own head. "Dammit." He grunted then, running a hand over his face. "Startin' to get sentimental now, huh?"

A lopsided smirk slipped onto his lips as he ran a hand through his hair, and his attention was grabbed as the fire flickered, the light from it dimming as the wood crumbled to dust. Supposed that was his ticket to get his ass up and moving again.

As convinced as he was this place wasn't gonna last, he still liked it here. It was home, the best home he got. Besides, who wouldn't? He had been crashing at the Summers' residence here and then, and Logan was allowed to feel a bit giddy when he had two charming red heads cooking him up dinner every other night. So, Logan was going to make the most of it, even if he was beginning to turn soft. He pushed himself to his feet with a grunt, a small, metallic, snap coming from his back before he cocked his head up, giving the breeze a sniff.
