               ➥Cora was found by her mother in a cardboard box by the dumpster behind the diner where she worked at in Phoenix, Arizona. Being at the end of her shift, Jolene took the child in, and brought her home. Her husband was resistant as they barely had the money to themselves, but eventually gave in, as he could never really say no to Jolene. The woman named the baby Cordelia, and proceeded to raise her as her own. She had a fairly normal childhood, always being closest to her mother as her father preferred to act as if she wasn't even there unless there was a chore to be done. Seven years later, her little brother was born, and things seemed like they might turn up for the family as the new baby actually brought them closer. That was until half a year after, when they woke up and Jolene had disappeared, with nothing but a note saying "I'm sorry" left on her pillow. Kevin was devastated and barely did anything but go to work, so even as a child herself, Cordelia started to take care of things around the house with the occasional help of her grandmother who visited a few times a week.

meanwhile, something did change in Cordelia, though she couldn't properly pinpoint what. She'd hear a voice in her head sometimes, mostly giving her advice or insulting the people she was angry at, and at night, she had nightmares, most which lasted the whole night long. It only got stronger but she ignored it, trying to remain in normal life. It wasn't until she was 15 that at a party at her boyfriend's house, she came into first with drugs, and noticed they kept the voice quiet, as well as the turmoil inside her. She started to use them more regularly, noticing they didn't affect her but only whatever was reacting like that within her. However as the drugs kept the voice quiet when she was awake, it made it stronger and angrier during the night. Until one night, when she was 16, it burst out. The voice showed itself in a nightmare, revealing it was a demon of the dark dimension inhabiting her body and it would not be subjugated. It launched a wave of darkness over her house that messed with the electrical devices and the house caught on fire. She was able to get Caden out and rushed outside with a simple backpack of essentials and her father was just coming home from the bar. When he saw what happened he got aggressive and started shouting, getting to the point of slapping her to the ground. By the time the police came, they saw his attitude and Cordelia took the chance to blame the fire on him and so, Kevin was arrested for minor abuse and arson. They were both taken to live in their grandmother's house, who after a search of her backpack in which she found the drugs, kicked Cordelia out, separating her from Caden.

the voice spoke in her head and she agreed, that she would no longer be subjugated to anyone. She'd find a way to make enough money to sustain both herself and Caden, and after she turned 18, she'd get guardianship of him. Cora however, spotted that the voice didn't want to just help but had a goal of eventually controlling her, and so she had to continue with the drugs though she didn't have the money for the debts she got in with some very powerful people. And so, started her journey of being on the run. She named the demon Morgana, after the mithological witch. (WIP)
