Marvel Demonology| My Interpretation

|Intro|

Many realms and beings exist in the Marvellian universe. One of the Angels and one of the Demons. Only when we look past blind fear can we achieve true understanding of what is morality

|Realm|

Most Marvellian Demons live in well...Hell. Hell is known in most Religions as the place of eternall fire and damnnation and it has nine circles . Many dimensions are within Hell. Their goverment type is Oligarchy where power rests in a small number of people The Hell-Lords power is dispersed amongst them and some claim to be the one true ruler of Hell and some are even rulers of their own dimensions ( the Splinter Dimensions) but the council as a whole have most of the power in Hell. The reason why I also think it's a pseudo Monarchy is in the physical realm there is one definition of Satan to humans. So the Hell-Lords within themselves elect someone to take on the title "Satan" but the singular demon who wins the election doesn't have all the power in Hell that power belongs to the Hell-Lords as a whole . But "Satan" is sorta a liasion between the Physical Realm and Hell and they are who is summoned when anyone does a satanic ritual . The position lasts for Two to Four years and after that term is up the Hell-Lords elects another within their council to take their place.

Their culture technology wise is primitive considering the denzions rarely leave hell to go to the Physical Realm . It is full of vice and sin ...Think of Las Vegas   with 1990's Russian goverment and you have Hell . They have their own language known as "The Demonic Script"

|Powers |

|(Hell)Demon Physiology|

Hell demons are variable in appearance but they mostly have physical bat wings or like Mephisto can make wings out of Nether energy. They are usually red, gold, green, black , purple or grey but can be a mix of colors. Hell demons usually have goat or sheep horns that can be spiral , straight or corkscrew. They have tufts of fur around their neck, on the head and on their elbows ...some have actual hair (Mephisto) while others have quills (Blackheart) ....again this is a general physiological study cause Dormmamu is considered a Hell-Lord but was not actually born in Hell or is a Hell Demon...he is more of a Faltine. They sometimes have sharp teeth protruding from their mouths like the Oni or bulldog or goat like faces. But also some have been seen with bushy tails like a wolf and cloven hooves like a goat(Mephisto is one example). Their breath smells like brimstone and sulfur and while not as agile as Dreamons they make up for it in physical strength

|(Dream) Demon Physiology|(Using Nightmare as an Example)

As a dream demon Nightmare is pretty strong but not superhuman. He has a long pointy tongue and sharp teeth. He can run really fast and is very agile. Nightmare can eat anything basically with no major repercussions... from mortal food to fear (or pillows!) He is an omnivore but leans towards meat . The demon's pupils are cat like slits that enable him to see in the dark and are reflective and when he is beyond pissed his voice goes to a low guttural growl and his eyes turn bright red as his demon instincts take over. When he is using his powers his eyes turn yellowy orange. He has claws on his hands and feet. He acts all tough but is just a big demonic puppy or cat who is curious about everything in the mortal world. Nightmare has the ability to run on all fours cause his collarbone(or clavicle) is flexible along with his shoulders , spine and kneecaps. Nightmare is able to rotate his head backwards and upside down with a creepy neck cracking noise for spooky effect. He is also able to bend backwards completely since his spine is very flexible and is triple ted in his fingers and he usually is in a crouched position ready to pounce on unsuspecting prey. He hisses alot and the DROOL!!! OH MY THE DROOL!!! He gives kisses and shows affection by licking the unlucky person leaving them covered in slobber . His bite strength is 3 times more powerful than a Rottweiler so once he bites down on your arm yeah you might need to invest in a bionic arm. His sense of smell is very keen as well

|Shapeshifting|

Both types of Demons are able to shapeshift and change their genders at will

|Fire Manipulation|

They are of course able to manipulate fire. The color of the fire depends on the type of demon . Demons are of course fire proof

|Possession|

Demons are able to possess objects and people causing them to gain superhuman strength . If a demon posesses a sorcerer or magic the person's magic reacts with the demon's magic causing them to transform into a demonic being

|Nether Manipulation/Magic|

Some demons have mastered the art of using their own energy to do spells using the essence that flows through the realms of life and death

|Soul Manipulation|

Demon's are able to see , eat, purge , and collect souls and use soul energy for combat . Hell demons rely on this more than dream demons.

|Immortality|

Most demons are immortal but still can be hurt by holy water , exorcisms and light magic.

Many other powers exist . It depends on the type of demon.

|Nightmare|

The Master of the Subconscious. The Lord of Dreams , Nightmare is an entity surrounded by mystery and superstition . Folk tales of old say he is the spirit of slumber who rides on a horse made of shadows and hellfire. Some tales say he holds the hollowed skulls of deceased people and stores the fear of his victims to power himself up. Some say he rides a chariot made of bones drawn by two large bat winged, quadrapedial ,cloven hooved creatures with piercing red eyes , snakes for tails and dog heads with curled goat horns instead of ears. In Asian cultures especially Japan he rides the Baku or is the Baku . But Nightmare is more than just folk tales woven by a terrified and superstitious public. Nightmare is an essential part of the universe.

|Mephisto|

The so called ruler of Hell. Mephisto is what comes to mind when one thinks of "Satan" . It is said by humans that he was once a fallen angel but this is denied by the fiend who is not the biblical Satan . The True Marvellian Satan has never been seen . He requires the souls of many to fuel his desires for power and control. Mephisto rules over a domain teeming with the lost souls of the deceased and his demonic underlings .

|Dormammu|

The Ruler of the Dark Dimension The Dread Dormammu brings the faint of heart a sight to behold. One of the most powerful Demons overriding even Mephisto, Dormammu is a sorcerer who uses The Flames of Faltine along with powerful dark magic.

|Daimon Hellstrom|

A child of Satan and a mortal woman , Daimon Hellstrom along with his sister Satana are said to be humanities vices come to being by the uninitated. He and his sister were trained by their father in the art of magic.
