Hello and welcome to another post for the MA Elite! This theme was all about Sunsets. I wanted to test the waters and try a little short story. Little summary is just all the enjoying the sun set, no wars, no fights. Just humans enjoying peace.

As the last rays of sunlight melted into the horizon, painting the sky in molten gold and deep purples, the Avengers stood quietly on the rooftop of the ruined compound. The battle was behind them—at least for today. Steve Rogers rested his shield beside him, eyes fixed on the line where day met night. “We made it,” he murmured, more to himself than anyone else. Beside him, Natasha leaned against the railing, her silhouette framed by the fading glow. She didn’t say much, just gave a small nod, her thoughts somewhere far beyond the smoke-stained clouds.
Thor sat cross-legged, sipping from a bottle of ale he’d conjured from who-knows-where, occasionally grinning at nothing in particular. Bruce stood nearby, arms crossed, his gaze softer than usual as if even the Hulk inside him recognized the peace of the moment. Tony arrived last, landing with a soft thud as his suit folded away. He didn’t speak either—just walked up and stood between Steve and Natasha, the wind catching the edges of his shirt. For a moment, they were just people. Not warriors. Not gods. Just survivors watching the sun say goodbye.
The breeze picked up, brushing through Clint’s hair as he stepped out from the shadows, a quiet rhythm in his steps. He didn’t say much—just gave a small wave, then dropped down next to Thor, stretching his legs and letting out a breath like he’d been holding it all day. Wanda stood alone, off to the side, her fingers absently tracing patterns in the air. Red wisps of energy flickered and faded, not from power—more like memory. Vision had once stood here too, beside her, watching the same kind of sky.
“Sunsets are strange,” she whispered, not expecting anyone to answer. “They look like endings. But sometimes… they’re beginnings, too.” Tony looked at her for a long second, then gave a small, sideways smile. “You’ve been hanging out with Cap too much,” he said, not unkindly. Steve chuckled, the sound quiet and real. Natasha glanced over, eyes softening. No one replied. They didn’t need to. Far below, the world was already moving again—cars humming, people rebuilding, lives continuing. But up here, for just a few minutes more, the Avengers weren’t saving the world. They were simply part of it. And above them, the last sliver of sun dipped beneath the edge of the earth, leaving only stars.
