After letting a little more than a month , I just now realized I never posted a conclusion to my stage one post. If you didn't see that, click here.

The Axeheads

So, the axeheads were actually quite simple to make. After tracing everything out on the steel, I took an angle grinder and started cutting.

Wait, where's the image?

Well, funny story. I was recording the whole process on my GoPro. Unfortunately, I failed to notice my GoPro had filled up and it began overwriting footage and pictures. RIP progress images.

Heat Treating

Although the axeheads were shaped and cut out, they were still bent with ease and unhardened. So, since the forge was already running, I decided to heat treat. I got the areas that would be the blades up to critical temperature, then quenched. A 15s clip of this can be found here

If you want to see it, I guess. It was the only remaining footage.

Finishing

Despite some bad warping in the heat treat (22ga steel, whatcha gonna do), the final product looked very cool. I cut a channel down a 1" dowel, and slid the 2 heads in. Afterwards, I bound them with epoxy and athletic tape to hold them in place, as well as provide a better grip.

Thanks for reading, guys! I know this one was a bit wordy, but it just happens sometimes

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

EDIT: Previous version stated steel was 18ga. Information corrected.
