Yo! Welcome to the blog
Been a while since I just did a classic little writing piece, my friend asked what my favorite villain in anime was today and I joked and said Eren Yeager. He said Griffith from Berserk, which instantly reminded me who my actual one was, since he's basically just Griffith on absolute roids
Oh, and it goes without saying there will be HUGE SPOILERS as this is 100% Manga material
David Jehoahaz Abraham
Similar to Imu from One Piece, his name isn't even mentioned until more than HALFWAY through the entire series until the mid 200's when it discusses Alma Torran. Introducing us to Solomon, we see the war torn world between multiple sentient beings and how both man and non man is used as slaves to focus and harness magical power as raw life energy. An extremely terrible, eventually world ending factory like way of harnessing the energy of their world
Obviously this is done by someone so perposterously evil its unreal, and like any classical story, it so happens to be the main characters father! Up until he was around 10 and met the Mother Dragon, who snapped him out of his wrong ways and inspired him to save the world from his corrupt father, who, didn't even see him as a son to begin with

Bro does NOT CARE. His Wikipedia has his family and enemies nearly matched up completely. His son was nothing but a tool to meet an end, and he spent his entire, long life of nearly 1,000 years solely working to gain more power than he already had despite being at the top of the world. During the story, we learn David is defeated by his son only for him to appear over 50 fucking chapters later CONTROLLING SINBAD!

Imagine reading that and having to wait on hiatus :sob: :sob: It was ludicrous. Then after that, we don't even see him until the very end of the arc where he uses Sinbads efforts to challenge Ugo, only to be easily defeated and literally put in a fucking jar.

Not so long after, he breaks out and takes over using Ugo's detiorated mind to his advantage since he's the father of his fallen friend. Literally overcoming God himself AGAIN just like before when he nearly fused with Ill Illah, the Sacred Palace is basically the brain of God, Ill Illah's body that utilizes part of his power to overlook reality itself, the entire universe! Taking this over meant only the greatest of wills and power could even hope to somewhat challenge him COMBINED, and through the battle we see their universe fall into chaos

During his take over David begins re writing Solomons world from the ground up to the point it literally makes the dead souls in the Rukh revolt agaisnt him. Every living and dead part of counciousness itself fought agaisnt him, and HE WAS WINNING! :sob: This obsessive villain spent over 1,000 years PLOTTING, manipulating people like Arba and Sinbad to perform actions that led to his revival. Corrupting parts of their mind so precisely they thought it was only them doing it, it took the strongest warriors alive to even begin weakening him! And once they did, the fabric of their reality itself began to crumble and become vulnerable

OUTER UNIVERSES Sensed their weaken and dwindle as they battled their own Ill Illah, likely stronger worlds who fully controlled theirs. What a scary fucking thing to think about- it took everything they had to keep these people out while trying to take back the Sacred Palace. This absolute monster spent his entire life seeking out more power, not even having a single loved one, attempting to kill his own son, his only family member for it. Not a single care in the world or ounce of love, when accused by his grand son Aladdin of obsessing over power due to his lack of human relationships, he mocks the comment as he had plenty of life to do otherwise. The man simply CHOSE to not give a shit and devote himself to taking over everything, planning to not only rule his own world, but use its power to take over others and become a MULTIVERSAL GOD. Nearly fucking succeeding at it as well, this man could turn planets into fucking death rays and use every element and magic in the book. If it wasn't for the power of life, will, and counciousness itself fighting agaisnt him while he's physically assaulted as well, David would've easily attained what he spent so long working for

Despite all that though, he still lost, despite being so emotionally void of anything, so focused and fixated on his goals putting everything that could possibly be placed into place for himself, still, he lost. Not just to Aladdin, Alibaba, Hakuryuu, and Judar, but to the will of mankind, dead and alive, itself, the pure collective counciousness in the world had to force him out. Talk about overpowered man, its not everyday characters scale past dbz like this, they were out here fighting a multiversal threat with all they got. Fucking amazing, David spent his entire life learning everything about the inner and outer workings of the world. The soul, memories, willpower, magic body and mind. A true master of all, losing only because of his greatest strength that became his greatest weakness, his complete lack of allies.
David is a prime example that while everything can be accomplished alone, in the end, it will more often than not lead to you realizing that doing it alone isn't worth it. His emotionless approach to goal pursuing and manipulating everyone to his bidding, every insane skill possible to have wasn't enough. But his villainy is just so raw and captivating, everything from his design to his personality of simply wanting to rule. Not needless destruction, not wanting to rule over a nation, no. David desired something far beyond that, something that encomed the ability to create and destroy with unlimited potential. Suring almost every great villain in his pursuit to have absolute power of everything with divine will, no matter what the cost.

No fucking sappy backstory, no trauma, no hard life or crucial events, this man was just fucking born in a world where mystery and possibility was abundant. Gathering his will to pursue every last drop of what there was to be known, and own. Inflicting suffering not of pleasure, but simply because it so happened to be one of the stepping stones in the path of his true goals. Even after his son saved and rewrote the world to be better, David continued his pursuit and lived well over 1,000 years pursuing, accomplishing, and then losing everything he had worked for
The Ultimate Villain.
Anyways, that's my favorite and why I appreciate him so much. Raw and unfiltered, he's super fresh taste with these sappy fallen hero types nowadays and is just nice and pure, not even truly 'evil' but more so chaotic and careless. Amazingly well done man, doesn't take complex writing to make a villain that enjoyable. To me he's kind of like a well done Kaguya from Naruto, with Sinbad being Madara if he was a good guy :joy: :joy: The reveal felt good, natural, and extremely shocking with endless thrill. It explained everything about Arba and tied into Ugo and why the Alma Torran people were still around, making a wonderfully explained reveal for a mystery filled series that was ACTUALLY SATISFYING. Sum most don't accomplish, Magi is just a W bro. Hope yall enjoyed the long read
