Elven Lineage

hi everyone! Maitimo here ~

i just finished reading the Silmarillion for the second time, and I definitely struggled with who the heck is related to who. I drew diagrams, looked up family trees online, but there’s so many names (and each character has multiple names to boot) that I’m afraid I won’t ever really understand whose kid is whose and why on earth every name in the family has to be so similar.

the family lines in the Silmarillion are, to put it lightly, a lot to take in. everyone seems to have twelve cousins, three children (or more), and at least fourteen long-lost relatives.

but the question is;
