My collection of Middle-earth LARP (Live Action Role Play) weapons. These are foam weapons with a solid core, that are sized (1:1 scaled - typically over a meter in length), shaped and painted to replicate the weapons used in the films. They are weighted to allow for realistic combat, but as they are manufactured from dense foam, it prevents the risk of actually cutting an opponent (although the weight of them could still cause harm (especially the war-hammer!).

The Sting LARP sword was purchased specifically for my trip to New Zealand the purpose of taking photos, as I was reasonably confident that it would make it past customs in both directions.

Below is me holding Sting where they filmed the scene of Frodo and Sam leave the Fellowship, departing in a boat at Nen Hithoel, a large lake upon the Great River Anduin crossing to the far shore is Amon Hen at the conclusion of the Fellowship of the Rings …
